Great backup reel
I'm using this as a backup for both of my fly rods. I keep a slightly lighter line on it than I do on my 9-footer. It's worked great. I know it's nothing fancy but it will get you started. It's nice to see fly fishing equipment that has a low initial cost.

Very nice reel for the money
This reel had all the features of a traditional trout fly reel. I don’t know how it will perform over the long haul, but so far I am favorably impressed.

Good line holder, poor drag
I bought this reel with very low expectations, because all I really needed was something to hold line on my new 2wt fly rod. The materials are better than I expected, and it's very light so the weight balanced well.Unfortunately, the drag and retrieve are very uneven. Either the shaft is bent or the click gear is manufactured with too much play, but regardless of the reason they rotate off-center which results in a big "bump" of resistance as the line strips/spools out and a rattly/crunchy feel on retrieve. This isn't a deal breaker for me, since I'm targeting creek trout and panfish on an ultralight rod. But it doesn't give me the confidence to count on this reel as a long-term solution. I'll probably decide to upgrade sooner rather than later, and I'd have a hard time recommending it for use with a heavier rod.

Great Reel for the Price
Love the smooth quiet sound and action of the reel. Price was more than fair also. I like to reel with my right hand and switching hands for correct drag involved loosening C clamp, removing and reversing main gear, not too difficult YouTube helped.

Poor construction, plastic body, weight of reel incorrect.
When you mount this reel on your fly rod tightly in reel seat the reel flexes back and forth, not rigid, the reel mounting foot needs to be more sturdy. I doubt the construction of this reel is even graphite, it's probably plastic. Also it states the 5/7 reel weighs 4.9oz, it only weighs 4oz. I needed a 5oz reel to balance correctly on my fly rod. Reel too light makes rod tip top heavy. This reel is what it is, a $15 reel, but it is still is not worth having, I returned it. I will buy an aluminum reel.

Good value
OK so obviously it's a cheap reel. It looks very nice .traditional style.nice sounding.clicker not very noisy when reeling.plastic gears for drag that really don't come into play unless your fighting larger or stronger fish.good value.good looking.dont expect it to last a really long time.but for the money very good.

Great Beginner Reel
Great first reel for a beginner. I recommend you buy the larger 5/7 model. Not too loud and the drag works as it should. Invest money in a good rod no need for an expensive reel. This will do just fine
