Wretched: The Never After Series

Not my favourite of the series but still a nice read
I must say, this didn’t click with me the way Hooked and Scarred did. But I did prefer the ending compared to Hooked. Scarred will still be my number 1 so far though!I loved it being a female baddie this time! And I always enjoy when a bad FMC corrupts a good MMC. Although deep down, Nick definitely had his darkness. My main challenge with this one is how quickly it escalated between Evie and Nick. It’s like they hooked up twice and were in love and I just didn’t buy it as much as I did with the couple in the other two books.

4.5 stars! This book is a creative retelling of The Wizard of Oz that is extremely addictive!
I enjoyed reading Wretched because the tale is original and well-paced, making it quite engaging. The characters are complex, with the FMC being the morally grey one for a change. The plot twists and dark topics in this book had me engrossed and invested in world Emily created. Overall, it's a well-written book with a new take on the Wizard of Oz.TropesDark romance (Check TWs)SpicyMorally Grey FMCEnemies to LoversWizard of OZ retellingDual POV

What is up with these pages
everything was perfect until I actually tried to read them and realised the page 4 and 5 aren’t cut, and I had to reach them to be able to open the page

loved it
Absolutely loved Evie and nick. So glad they got their HEA. Dorothy and the dad were absolutely awful characters. Crazy how much they didn’t care except about themselves. Loved Ezekiel as well. Enjoyed the book and I would recommend

well written
Very well written and good use of jargon. I would recommend this book to anyone who identifies as American of Irish descent and enjoys mafia romance. Unfortunately I didn’t gel with the characters, but this is purely personal and subjective. Thank you to the author for the storyline.

Fave in the series so far
I have been looking forward to this one from the start of the series, i loved the aspect of the FMC being the villain and it definitely didnt disappoint. I loved everything about this book, the spice, the characters. I loved Evie and my heart hurt for what she had to deal with but i loved the strong front she put on. I loved Nick and seeing him become obsessed with Evie, from the start i really was wondering how it was all going to play out. I loved the epilogue i just wished we were able to see a bit more of them together after. Im super excited for the next to come out in this series now because i have loved every book so far!

wicked little tale
“How I’m the villain of her story as surely as she is mine.”⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 for story 🌶🌶/5 for spice. This was a neat mob romance. However, I wasn’t really pulled in by the characters. I also feel the chemistry between Evie and Nick/Brayden was a tad lacking. I enjoyed the poetry that was sprinkled throughout. The author played that up in a very sexy way. I also enjoyed the connection to Wizard of Oz. It was done well.IMO, McIntire does a better job with the slow-burn romances. But I do think many readers will enjoy this book and I would recommend to any taboo romance reader out there. I caution TW though.

Unbelievably Touching!
This series just keeps getting better!!!While not nearly has dark as Scarred, Wretched is cleverly written as always but also so incredibly moving that you dont expect from a book of this nature. Yhe inclusion of Classic poetry from Shakespeare, Keats and Emily Dickinson are so nicely woven into the narrative that despite the content, it all works soo well!Eveline is the daughter of a drug dealer and Nicholas is the cop charged with hunting the crime family down. When he goes undercover to do this, he finds himself falling for the pessimistic Eveline in a big way that neither of them expected.I dont usually give saucy books 5s but this is a major exception just for the cleverness of the writing, the smut scenes, the realistic dialogue and the dare i say sophistication thats injected with the poetry. Its sexy, a little bit dingy but also very fun and unexpectedly sweet in a major way.Definitely a McIntire fan and cannot wait for the be t instalment, whatever it may be!!
