OMG.......
I'm never going to get anything done again........ well, until I've finished the last book in this Series that is.......I could not stop reading (& on occasion re-reading) smart, sassy, downright laughter inducing words that just flowed off the page. The descriptive narration, characters and interactions were fantastically drawn and deserving of the reread !ONWARD to the next Chess Piece without further ado.....!

Amazing story- got me hooked
Ace is not, what you would expect, there is no happy ending but I felt in love with every single one of the characters and even though it ended as it did it got me hooked! Very well written. I can't recommend it more!

What a fantastic start!
This author has hit the ground running! I loved the style of writing. It was full of angst and I did shed a few tears towards the end (Padraig…me so sad!).The multiple POV’s I would normally struggle with, but it was it written seamlessly and with all the crossover books it is necessary for each new story/characters beginnings. The only thing was I felt a bit ambivalent towards Ace. Normally I would be leaning towards a character and feel happy that they got their ending, in this case I wasn’t rooting for him as much. Perhaps he didn’t get enough ‘screen time’ but I have a feeling that this was this was done on purpose for the future storylines (hopefully!).Jaine’s story definitely isn’t over and I’m looking forward to reading about her in the upcoming books.

Wow! What a page turner!
Loved this book. Jaine is the epitome of cool biker lady with a brain. Loved her relationship with Irish and also Ace.Definitely recommend!

This made me cry
This was such an emotional read, I love Ace, so many misunderstandings and mistakes between her m and Jaine. Both are strong willed characters with passionate beliefs., the scenes between the pair are explosively hot.Things are just shaping up for the pair then tragedy strikes, this book made me ugly cry. It’s a powerful story that I’ve read several times, so much happens here, an amazing read.

didn’t know what to think…
At the beginning I was sure I’d love this! Mafia, MC and a hard as nails leading lady? Checkkkkkkkkk however as the book got on I thought it was messy messy messy, too much going on, too many point of views and the plot just confused me like was it all for nothing? I didn’t like the ending either from being such a strong chick she then settled for a man who time and again treated her like poop! And don’t even get me started on what she’s done to my paddy!! But I’ll admit I am looking forward to see where this series goes as I think it does have major potential!!

good story
A Good story but too many unnecessary points of view throughout the book. Only the main four characters should have been. I really felt for Delaney though.

I’m hooked
I read this book after it was recommended to me and it is the starter for an MC cross Mafia style series which are two of my favourite tropes. Slow burn as you are slowly introduced to the characters. Two MC’s, two locations, hard core bikers. Ace and Jaine a second chance romance, complicated by her relationship with Razr and her past with Paddy. Gritty, fast paced and totally addictive. By the end of the book I was hooked and all I can say is bring on book 2. It took me time to absorb everything as there are so many elements to the story. This is a very raw, gritty and bloody book which keeps you on your toes. Several times I had to reread back to make sure I hadn’t missed something. A great starter for the series and left me wanting more.
