Are these dimensions really in inches? If so this is a very big push button breaker.

I've just installed 20 new circuit breakers of this brand (10, 20 & 40 amp). My units were @ 1-1/4" x 1-3/4" x 9/16"Hope this helps

The body of this circuit breaker is 9/16" thick x 1 3/8" wide x 1" deep. It mounts in a 3/8" hole & from the mounting surface to the end of the spade connections it is 1 7/8". I hope this helps.

I'm looking to install a push to reset circuit breaker between a regular ol' 110v AC household outlet and an inverter. Would this work?

I am not an electrician so I don't know. I used this product to step up the amperage on a Bosch air compressor and it worked fine allowing the compressor to run under higher loads.Hope this helps.Robert

It isn't tripping with 12v, tried connecting across battery to test, just sparks on bat terminal, no trip, is this defective?

I am forced to guess which rated C/B this is...I have forty amp rated breakers. Rated for ten AWG wire. If I strike the 10 gauge wire across battery terminals I am going to get a big flat blue spark. If I HOLD the two wires tight against the battery posts after a second or two the breaker will trip BUT THE WIRES DO NOT GET HOT. This would be true with a 5 amp breaker using 20 gauge wire or a hundred amp breaker using 6 gauge wire. BREAKERS PROTECT ELECTRICAL WIRING NOT AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE. Use a fast acting FUSE for electronics - the one recommended by the electronics manufacturer. Hope this helps.
