Speck Products Presidio Cell Phone Case for Samsung Galaxy S8 - Aloe Green/Periwinkle Blue

Bought a replacement case on here after using my last one for about 5 years (replaced because the rubber lining was getting a bit ragged). The case works really well for drops on it's back and corners and I've had no damage from those incidents at all. Only complaint is that the edge of the case is lower than the face of the screen so I'd recommend buying a screen protector with it if you want to be extra safe. ( I wasn't and I paid the price with a small-ish crack in the corner of my screen. No big deal to me but could be important for others).It appears to be the same quality as my first and after about a month I've been very satisfied with it. Color is also really nice for someone who just wants something plain and not crazy galaxy colors on cheap plastic.Worth it.

It doesn't grip. When I try to stand it up or lean it against something it slides down. Although it does slide into my pocket a bit easier but I don't like it so slippery it's very hard plastic compared to my last one

This case is pretty great, it's hard plastic, with a second shot of rubberized material on the inside of that to hold onto your phone. It fits perfectly around the phone and doesn't obscure the screen. The flat back makes it ideal for sticking things to (loop rings and such). It doesn't have any "extra" built in features, which is perfect for me.The branding on it is super tiny, and fits between the cameara and the edge of the case. It doesn't SAY anything, and is just the little speck logo. another plus in my book.Now we get to the reason for the low rating: The Samsung Galaxy S8 features a microphone on the bottom edge near the charge port, it looks like a little pin hole. The ruberized material almost entirely blocked this hole, and it took many "i can't hear you" phone calls to make this discovery. Because of the ruberized material, and the location of this hole, it is beyond hard to get at to cut it away. Can't use a hobby knife because it's rubberized and just bounces. Can't use scissors because they are too big and don't fit. I've tried my best by using a drill bit, but again the rubberized stuff just shreds because it's bouncing away.

Took a bit to fit case around power button. Still functional, but still a little off. Also thought it was two pieces, but its only one.

The case is quite comfortable to hold, not that slippery. The material is study, one of the best of the Speck line. It so sturdy, that the only scratches are some faint white lines that can be visible in light. These white lines damage didn't penetrate the case. Sure, I have dropped case, put it in a backpack with other things, but doesn't get damage. Now, keep in mind, I'm taking about normal use, so if you jump a 20 meter wall and your phone falls out of your pocket and hits the floor, the results are gonna be different. The Presidio is a must have, and the material is splendid.Now, normal Presidio material versus Presidio clear are totally different. Which is in another review.

Purchased for my daughter. She likes the color and I like protection

It's a Speck case. My first encounter with speck was with my iPhone... Whatever, who cares about the model. If you're searching by brand you already know who is the best. I bought mine used and have gotten 4 or 5 months of solid, abusing usage out of it with the typical breaks and cracks associated with a Speck case: the hard plastic around the charging port is broken. Hard plastic corners are busted. The """"traction"""" rubber surfaces have all snagged on my jeans and started flaking off. My back glass has cracked but I think that's my fault for never cleaning the dust and small debris out of my case after it's in hostile environments. Bottom line? My screen isn't shattered (thanks to the bumpers that extend beyond the level of the screen), my phone doesn't fall out of the case when it falls and the case is minimally bulky for how well it protects.

I have had this on my phone for almost a year now and love it! I've seen a few reviews where they said it was a little slippery, and I can see that. But, I use a popsocket which adds more grip anyways so I havent had any issue with that. Very pretty color and durable which is important as I'm clumsy.

This feels a little cheap to be honest, it does provide good coverage. But it does not work with glass screen protector as it smashed it as I tried to get my phone into its case.

Very tight fit. Cannot be used with a glass screen cover. The case itself has very poor scratch resistance.

Very sturdy case, yes the phone is no longer a work of art but if you want a case that protects your investment I certainly would recommend this one.
