Heavy Duty Saddle Style U-Bolt Muffler Clamps with Anti-Rust Coat and Multiple Uses (1 3/4")

The rod portion of this clamp isn't very skookum and is a very low-gauge of steel compared to the Totalflow clamp I bought (also 2.5"). Also, the anti-rust coating is barely even there. I would hesitate to call this galvanized. Also, the Totalflow clamp is cheaper AND it's zinc-plated! I don't work for Totalflow or anything, just giving my honest comparison. It's funny that this one is more expensive by almost a dollar and you get less for your money. I could bend this with my hand, too, so I don't even think this is properly hardened. I'm hesitant to use this on my Jeep. Might just keep it as a spare and get another clamp from AutoZone that's properly galvanized or zinc-plated.Edit: I ended up trying to use this on my Jeep, and what a mistake that was. Even though I used the proper size six-point half-inch socket, the nut got all chowdered, and so did the threads that the bolt was sitting on when I was socking it down. I wasn't even done tightening the clamp down when the nut slipped and almost rounded itself off. I had to use vise grips to get the damn thing off. It's almost like the steel used throughout this product is all eneeled steel and not hardened! Unbelievable. I requested (and received) a refund because of this. I can't recommend this product at all as it failed before it was even properly doing its job.

Bought these to avoid having to slot my exhaust collectors in order to get a grip with the band clamp style clamps. I did not have a very tight slip fit, so I was leery whether they would work. They are much more robust than the other parts store clamps I've purchased in the past, and I was able to crank down on them very firmly without stripping, allowing them to seal perfectly. The U channel is perfectly sized to the exhaust tubing as well, no extra slop or play. Can't beat it for the price.

I don't believe there is much, if any, "anti-rust" coating on these. The threads and nuts only have machine oil. There is a dull grey finish on some of the surfaces, but many areas that dull grey had rubbed off exposing just plain metal. I would not recommend these for someone who is looking for a clamp that doesn't rust, or is slow to rust. For around the same price as these, you can find galvanized clamps, or around double the price Stainless ones.I was very disappointed in these and sent them back...

I'm not an idiot and clearly have 2.5" exhaust and these are labeled 2 1/2....they wouldn't tighten up much beyond snug without getting very close to running out of threads and the nuts starting to deform and strip. Very soft steel. I had to go to the local "Parts" zone and get some more clamps which worked great and actually tightened up fine. I bought 4 of these and they are all terrible

In the standard "sell your weakness" marketing technique, the manufacturer adds "anti-rust coating" right into their description. Yeah- well, if there is a coating on there, it doesn't do much. They're rusting after just a few months. Given that it's in a visible location, used to mount a bracket on the front of my Travel Trailer- I was hoping for a nice stainless/galvanized look, rather than rusty brackets. These are now rusty. blah.

The steel used seems ok, but the description of anti rust coating is completely false. If they meant a light coat of oil, there wasn't even that. As you can clearly see in the pictures attached, there is a lot of rust on the surface of the bolt itself. I can clean it up no problem, but you really should not tell people in your description of the product that it has a anti rust coating, when it does not.

Not at all as described, or as pictured. I chose these because I saw premium hardware, and purchased at a higher price than others. These are total garbage u bolts. The overall review rating doesn’t reflect the latest reviews at all?!! Amazon has let us down, again. Spare yourself! Keep looking for other clamps. If you think I’m just a complainer, read other reviews… it’s not just me!

I own an auto parts and repair shop. My normal supplier was out and I needed 4 more 1 7/8" clamps for the shop to finish a job. These were $6.70 each, not plated, no lockwashers, and measured 2.05". The only "Anti-Rust Coat" was some dirty oil on them inside the plastic bags. The ones I normally sell for $3.75 at retail are correct in all ways and sized correctly.NOT impressed. These should be $1.00-1.50 at most.

El vendedor es un fraude, NO LO RECOMIENDO, la abrazadera llegó en su empaque y en la etiqueta dice nuevo pero parece usada y el material es de baja calidad, según es de 1-1/8” pero en realidad mide 1-1/4” aunque tiene estampada la medida de 1-1/8” pero no lo es, tengan cuidado de no comprar esta pieza.
