VIKING Kestrel ED Binoculars (8x42)

Fabulous binoculars to replace my Viking Vistons which I lost! These are an upgrade though cheaper than I paid for my other binocular several decades ago! The best binoculars in this price range! Perfect clarity and very well made! I find them the perfect weight and fabulous for bird watching! Easy to adjust and therefore ideal for general use in addition to bird watching.Treat yourself; buy a pair!

The edge sharpness, colour transmission and low light level contrast of these optics are excellent.The ergonomics are also great, the focusing is both smooth and quick, there's no sign of free play in the focusing ring which is chunky and beautifully knurled. I'd be very surprised if these binoculars could be bettered by any others in their price bracket and are equal to others I've looked through costing considerably more.

Bought another brand as a gift for my wife to see if she'd be interested in Bird watching. Huge success but a short time the other brand had a mechanical failure. Chose the Viking Kestral when replacing and considering the small cost difference these are in another league when it comes to finish and optical performance. Supurb crisp focus, high contrast images and solid feel - these are a huge step up from the entry level budget brands. Great support from Viking too.

I love these binoculars, been using them for bird watching and the viewing quality is amazing, comparing to another set of binoculars I bought on here they’re worlds apart. The 8X42 I purchased gives you good range and allows enough light in to give beautiful viewing. Lightweight enough to use for long periods of time. This is one of those scenarios where you get what you pay for!
