I grew up in an era when a breaker bar..breaker BARS..DID NOT BREAK!! C'mon..your dad..and or your uncle..maybe YOU LOL..just give er..stand..JUMP on the thing..sledge hammer the damn thing..put a length of pipe on it and just give er.. Break..the things did not even BEND.. That was in the 1960's/1970's..not sure when the junk came out.. I had bought a few Canadian Tire..Mastercraft..many years ago..don't know what happenned to them.. I had occasion to buy some more..SOooo..off to Canadian Tire..their Maximum line.. Do yourself a SAFE favor..DON'T BUY those Canadian Tire Maximum 1/2" guaranteed for life 1/2" 24" breaker bars. Do someone else a favor..just DON'T buy them. Sure..they go on sale all the time..for like $10 I bought 2 of them..at a rusted torqued to 140ft lbs and rusty..wheel nut..these things with NO cheating..extension..just armstrong..bent like spaghetti!! No..they actually did not break..WHO CARES?? WHEN the lug nut came loose..the shock waves from this real garbage bar sent PAINFUL shock waves up my arm..ok..I will NOT EVER use this again..the 2nd bar was the same. Ok..off to some more breaker bar SHOPPING..PLENTY!! of reviews on breaker bars BREAKING..yes even on here..what a lovely way to maybe get some serious injury! Like a piece of shrapnel. Gearwrench..yes..I have a few of their tools..GREAT! stuff..FOR PROFESSIONALS,MECHANICS I could not find ANY bad reviews on these things.. Amazon..there was a set..SET..1-15" very handy size! plus the 24"..$32 I think.. They were here almost as soon as I ordered them.. The Gearwrench case..thing of beauty! Heavy cardboard..beautiful..with a hinged lid! Just put that bad boy right in the roller cabinet! Gearwrench I guess takes some PRIDE in their product. Really nice to see especially in this day and age.. Feels like a tool for a pro..the head is 1/3 the size of the crappy tire one!..the shaft is thinner too.. On with the socket and to another couple nuts.. This bar was SOLID! Very little flex..pretty much all your effort goes into AH LOOSENING THE NUT! None of this bend like a LIMP noodle crap. The amount of effort with this bar just dropped like a stone.. It was just no big deal for this bar..YAWN.. No..I don't know how much torque they will take..but at 140ft lb rusted truck wheel nuts..this bar just called out to me.."GIVE ER" The other ones..the Maximum's..they were just unsafe at that length..torque..SOOoo..I cut them into SHORT bars.. Solid durable and provides plenty length for great leverage to break free stuck fasteners. You know it’s quality by the weight. Makes removing bolts easy. Nice finish. Gear wrench is always great
