Easy to use, well worth the price.
Hit my bass with the case and thought I had really damaged the body. It was severely cracked. I was told it would need to be professionally refinished. I don't remember how I came across this marker but after reading reviews I figured it was worth a shot. It worked better than I hoped. After a few tries I got the right amount of paint in the cracks. Then buffed with NuFinish Scratch Doctor with a soft cloth. It's for cars but I figured it would be OK. It smoothed out the finish and looks remarkably better. The only issue I had is I thought the finish was a blue to black burst but it's blue to very deep blue. Can only tell under certain lighting though and you have to look for it.

Worked great to touch up dings on my bass!
This pen is almost an exact match to any black painted guitar/bass you can own. It covers up nicks/dings easily, and you can't tell that there was ever a ding in the first place unless you know where to look!

Definitely a good buy! Used it on a guitar body.
Used this on the body of my guitar. Amazing color match and easy to use. Not much in it otherwise I would give it 5 stars.

The Best Touch-up Tool for Kendokas!
I know my use case is not for a musical instrument but for martial art equipment. I practice a martial art called kendo and the head gear uses black and red lacquer to ornate the menbuchi which is hardened rawhide. Sadly having a bamboo sword strike your protector over and over again during training the lacquer starts to chip over time as you can see in the before pictures. It is a pain to touchup and wasteful having to buy a bottle of lacquer paint to touchup the menbuchi. That is why these Coloratone touch-up markers are great. The black matched perfectly and very easy to use, the red on the other hand did not match the original color but I did not expect it to because color matching is very difficult if you don’t know the original color.I have to say this is the best menbuchi touchup tool for Kendokas to use and highly recommend it!

Matched up great!!
I ordered this product for a headstock/neck repair. After the repair I applied several coats on the repair and with a little wet sanding and buffing you wouldn't notice the repair unless you knew it was there. Stewmac always comes through!! Give them a try they're very helpful and accommodating!

Looks great! Can’t see where the chip was.
Works great. When applying nitrocellulose patience is key to a good finish. Apply light coats with adequate time in between. Give your project time to completely dry and you will be pleased with the outcome. StewMac has customer support to provide expert advice if you are not familiar with working with nitrocellulose.
