Fast and super simple to use
Could not have been easier to use. Simple swab in the nostrils, mix the sample with the included solution, and place in the testing unit. Just 30 mins for a result and far more accurate than the free antigen tests. It’s a bit pricey considering the testing device is not reusable but it served its purpose, giving me an almost immediate result at a time when PCR test appointments were difficult to obtain. It did it’s job as I tested positive right before I was about to visit some higher risk friends. That’s the peace of mind that makes this worth the price.

Thought I got a false positive but actually wasn't given full results my lab.
So I used a Lucira test on 12/14/22 and got a positive. Followed the instructions. I went to urgent care the same day to confirm things. They did what they said was a viral test and gave me the results the next day on 12/15/22. The results were negative so I can only assume the Lucira kit was faulty. Doesn't feel like it was worth the $30 bucks compared to the cheaper antigen tests. Anyway just putting this out there for anyone thinking of spending money. I really don't have a lot of confidence in these at home tests. Maybe it's just best to go to a lab.UPDATE: On 12/16/22 recieved call from lab reporting mistake. They had not given me the entirety of my results. I had tested negative for rsv and flu but was in fact positive for covid. So in light of this I do take back my original review of 2 stars.

Don't Buy These Covid Tests
Very expensive test--$50.00 for 1 test!) and it didn't work. The test was faulty and I didn't get any reading. The Company (actually Pfizer) customer service sent me 2 replacement tests. I had already gotten another antigen test brand by the time I received the replacement Lucira tests. I just looked at the the expiration date on the Lucira replacement tests today because we have Covid in the house and need to be testing. The expiration date was 4 months from the date I received the replacement tests.I contacted the company and they confirmed that the dates were not extended and the tests have expired and should be thrown away. Of what use are these tests? You cannot keep them on hand for an undetermined period of time to use them when you need them, and when you try to use one that hasn't expired, they don't work. Giant waste of time and money. Also worth noting that the tests contain giant amount of waste and plastic that has to be disposed of. The housing for the test monitor is this big hunk of plastic, it has batteries, packaging, etc. I can not recommend these tests under any circumstances--faulty, short expiration dates, waste, very expensive.

Easy to use
I got another one for this fall/ winter season. I want to keep 1 on hand. Last year I used this test right when I was feeling the body aches and PUNK feeling. I first tried the rapid tests and they were negative. Some hours later I used this expensive one and it was positive. I was surprised to see that. Doctor said to stay away from people and get alot of sleep. After 1 week I felt better, 2 weeks I went out again, though I had horrible headaches for months. I would recommend this over the antigen tests. It does work.

Defective
I purchased three kits. The first one gave an invalid result, meaning something was wrong with the test kit. The second kit gave what appears to be a false positive because we followed up a few hours later with a lab PCR test for confirmation, but the lab test came back negative. I do not feel it is worth trying the third kit. Lucira is replacing the first test and I am going to report the false negative as well. I think Amazon should refund for two kits but it will not. I cannot recommend this product despite high hopes for it.6/2022 Update: Lucira promptly replaced the two problem kits and they both worked fine, with results confirmed by a lab PCR. This company has very good customer service and stands behind its product. So I am revising my review to four stars. The Lucira test is still on the pricey side, but I am likely to try it again if the need arises for a test that is faster than a lab test and more sensitive than a home antigen test.
