Small is about 12"X 8", nice solid quality wood!
I am baffled by how anyone could debate that the sizing of this wood is not generous. I actually had to saw (with a real saw- this is SOLID quality wood!) mine to get it in the fish bowl. The wood has a variety of textures and colors, and is gorgeous. Photos truly do not do it justice, and it is heavy and solid. I grew up with a father who did woodwork as a hobby, as did my brother, and this is truly quality wood from my own experience. The thing to keep in mind with a fish tank/bowl or any water: wood leaks tannic acid, which will lower the PH of your water, which most sources say is GOOD for your fish. However, this results in a brown/dark hue in your water that is not pleasant to look at. We tend to think of "clear water" as best, but we aren't fish, we are people and we drink water rather than breathe it. To eliminate the dark hue, the most successful method I have found (much better than soaking) is boiling. I did this all day long, then tested it in room temp water the next day, but you will still get color in your water..there is no way around it!I chose to use this wood dry as decor in my home instead, as I was trying to use it in a betta bowl and the wood was taking over so much space that my betta would be a bit crowded.

Beautiful and Useful!
I now have 3 pieces of mopani wood in my aquarium (2 of them from Amazon). The first time I put a piece in, I do admit that I was shocked when a) the water turned reddish brown and b) slime grew on the wood. However, of course the tannins are going to leak from the wood and change the color (and the pH) of the water - this is EASILY remedied by weekly 10% water changes and changing out the carbon every 2 weeks. If you like the "blackwater" color than this wood is perfect for that. As for the "slime"...this is a fungus that feeds on the sap as it is leaching out of the wood. This problem goes away on its own in about a week. You can prevent it by boiling the woods in a stock pot for about 15 minutes. With that, I love this wood! It is really pretty and my fish love it! I have cichlids, yoyo and clown loaches, and plecos. It is great for hiding, feeding, and apparently spawning =)I also ordered medium and it was pretty big, but I am definitely not complaining about that!

Didn't spend a lot, Didn't get a lot
What I received was more of a blob of wood rather than anything that came close to the photo. I realize all are different, unique and special in their own way, however, mine looked more like a pile of prehistoric Do Do than anything else. The product did have nice multicolored visual beauty. It did have 2 "nubs" about 1" each that were probably going to be branches at one time. My Mopani piece after the second boiling no longer floated which was nice. The measurements are 9" length x 8" width x 3.5" Height. With all due respect, you can't pay 40% of the going $$ rate for Mopani Wood and receive a top aesthetically pleasing piece. Shipping was fast, I received what I expected (even tho I hoped for more on the outside chance I would get a really beautiful piece). I wanted to get my Blackwater tank going and this purchase kicked it off. On my next tank upgrade, I will purchase a beautiful Mopani centerpiece that is the exact piece pictured in the ad. I'm sure it will be $75.00 to $100.00, however, I will know what I am getting ahead of time. No guess work involved.Remember to soak the wood repeatedly in boiling water for at least 4 hours or until the water runs clear. My piece ran clear after about 6 hours.Shipping = Extremely fast 5 starsProduct = 3.5 stars (but what is to be expected for the price)Value = Good Value for a starter piece 4 starsWould I buy again, sure.... But understand this piece (or at least mine) is not going to make people say WOW when they see it in your tankHope this review is valuable to those who are considering purchasing

Love the look and natural benefits
This bog wood is great! I boiled it for 3 hours and put it in the tank after it cooled. It did turn the water a light tea color, but that didn't bother me, and it's fine for fish/frogs and helps keep the ph at a normal/lower level. I really like the colors in the wood as well. The longer it is in the tank the more colors come out, with was a fun surprise. I tied some java grass to the wood and it is taking really well and carpeting the wood with grass. The small bog wood was the perfect size for my 5 gallon tank. (I have several plants and a small sunken ship in there as well.) I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for some natural wood and look in your tank. If you like live plants the bog wood is a must to help keep the ph to a level they'll do well in and of course you can tie plants to the wood and they will grow into it making for a great, natural look to your tank- your fish will love you!

Won't Stop Leaking Tannins
Ordered the product, it came in quickly, sturdy wood and great size for the price. However even AFTER boiling and letting it sit for 48 hours, multiple months of it being in my tank with regular water changes and the PH is STILL 5.5, and the water orange, it was advertised as low-tannins. OK product, especially for price, but it might not be worth the hassle of draining tannins.

Couldn't be happier if I'd sourced it myself
I bought this to display my air plants and found the shape to be perfectly dimensional, with many divots to house the plants. The "small" piece I received is roughly 10" in length x 4" in height. A very artistic piece that appears crafted by hand, not nature! I am extremely happy with this purchase.

Very happy!
I was hesitant to buy a piece of wood online as I was afraid I’d get just a small flat piece of wood. The piece I got is not only beautiful but it is the perfect size. I have put mine in a terrarium with my air plants and I couldn’t be more pleased. It has holes through it that make it perfect to arrange my plants. Would look great in an aquarium as well.

This is a very pretty piece of wood
This is a very pretty piece of wood! I absolutely love it! My bristlenose pleco is all around it! I placed it immediately in my aquarium as I wanted the tannins for my betta, yay less catapa leaves! I got the medium and it is quite large. I have another "large" driftwood which is half the size and conbined them. I absolutely recommend this product! It's the best one and extremely inexpensive for what I got!

Quick , quality and painless service.
When buying these random pieces, you never really know if you'll get a good cut. I purchased a small and large piece and I'm extremely happy with my purchase. The delivery was quick and painless.

Terrible product
This product is terrible, I ordered a medium piece of wood and got a 2-Inch piece of wood. It is not worth $12 and nobody should buy this product unless you buy a really big one, way too over priced, unbelievable.
