Kala KA-PWT Pacific Walnut Tenor Ukulele Bundle with Gig Bag, Tuner, Austin Bazaar Instructional DVD, and Polishing Cloth

My wife and I are Ukulele beginners. After researching brands and ukuleles we settled on the Kala KA-PWC Pacific Walnut Concert Ukulele Bundle with Hard Case, Tuner, etc. I thought this was a very good value. It did not disappoint. Shopped separately this would have cost more. The Ukulele plays wonderful and sounds great - we purchased the "concert" size ukuleles. The hard case and tuner are a very good quality and the case will protect the instrument for its life. Only downside is we no longer have a dvd player on which to watch the dvd that is included for instructions. So we are streaming instructions from various YouTube instructional videos. Note that Austin Bazaar does have YouTube videos available. If you are going to learn to play the Ukulele - this is a relatively cost effective entry approach.

I waited over a week to write this review. I don't give a lot of 5 stars review's, but this one is worth it.There is an amazing number of 4-5 star ukes on Amazon, in the $50 range. I'm sure they make their buyer's happy, however, they are toys. I wanted a REAL uke that was durable and playable.I decided to spend a bit more and bought the $125 Enya tenor. It broke within a week and was unserviceable. It got returned!! I took my credit, plus a few more dollars to buy the Kala. I am not disappoint!Technically, it's still a beginners ukuele, but its on the higher end. It blows away the $50-$100 instruments. It has great range and a warm sound. The entire fret board is playable, unlike the cheap models. It comes strung in high G, with a decent set of easy to play strings. I re-strung it with low g, D'Addario fluorocarbons, and the sound is beautiful. They are soft, easy to play, with no buzzing. Most importantly, it holds it tune like a legitimate instrument should.I know it's on the expensive side, but it looks awesome, sounds incredible and is a joy to play. I'm so glad I spent the extra money for a better instrument.

Having practiced a few times in the past week, I can say this ukulele is a pretty good one, even though I need to tune every time before I start, but just a minute thing, and I believe the tuning times will decrease in the future. The attached instructional dvd is also very helpful.

It's not my first ukulele, but it is my first soprano. This little guy sounds great, though the action is a little high for my preferences and it doesn't hold a tune well out of the box. It needs a set-up done which sort of ruins the good price. I'd still buy it again.

This is a beautifully made little Ukulele. I was really surprised at such a great sound coming from a soprano ukulele. Very pleased with this purchase.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my musical daughter. I chose this one based on reviews. She loves it and once tuned it sounds great.

I use it when performing with my group. It is very pretty BUT it plays no better than the one I paid $100 less for.
