Easy to assemble and the extra clips kept it secure in 1x piece.Does have a timer button but unsure how long until it switches itself off.It is light so would blow over in strong wind so I used garden sting to tie to a pipe.But does come with spikes to hold in grass.It does give off good light.

Long gone are the days of paper chains and tinsel and since our visit to Sweden in 1990 we changed all of our Christmas decorations over to very traditional wood and rattan. Since then and with the advancement of LEDs we have added some lighting back to our festivities but have still held our belief that the shiny tinsel is a thing of the past and hopefully it will stay there, lol.This rattan reindeer comes in a few sections that require putting together, I'm not really sure why they did it this way as the box would only have needed to be slightly larger for it to come in one piece, that said, it is quite simple to assemble, just the head, tail and antlers need to be attached which is straight forwards and self explanatory.All through the body of this decoration are fairy lights which are powered by three AA batteries, these need to be purchased separately as they are not included, I can't tell how long they will last for but the control module has a built in timer so it can be set to come on for a set amount of hours before switching off again each night.This can be used indoors or outside in the garden as it's fully waterproof, I personally think it is a little small for outside but I'm sure some people will disagree. Since this is battery powered it can be used anywhere at all with no restrictions over a reachable power outlet and if used outside on soft ground there are some ground spikes included to hold the reindeer down incase of windy conditions. Along with the supplied parts mentioned there are also a substantial amount of small cable ties that can be used to permanently hold the parts on that needed to be assembled and tidy the cable should it be required.Overall, this is a lovely looking, traditional rattan reindeer thats built well and is easy to use.Recommended.

This Christmas Rattan Reindeer from Eambrite might better be described as faux rattan. Natural rattan cane won't stand up to the elements but this is a metal frame covered with plastic that genuinely looks like rattan - so much so I thought it was rattan when I first saw it.Compactly packaged in a robust plain cardboard box, handy for storage as I'll be using this year after year, the reindeer does require a little simple assembly - instructions enclosed but it's easy to do. The 4 separate pieces need to be slotted together and after use it's quick to take apart again.The 40 static warm white lights are pre-threaded onto the framework so this really is a breeze to set up - no need to be technically minded or dextrous. And the operation's no-faff too. This takes three AA batteries in a battery box that has a 30.5cm cable attached so it can be hidden.The box is simple to control - on/off or you can set a 6 hours on/18 hours off timer. I use rechargeable batteries - cheaper in the long run especially if you have a few battery operated lights around as I do.There's a plaid scarf inside the box. You could use this - or make your own from ribbon or fabric if you have a colour scheme you'd like to match the reindeer to. At 63.5cm/25cm tall, this is a good focal point wherever you site it. It could even be used in place of a Christmas tree. Children and adults will like it and the warm white lights give a magical feel.

I loved this reindeer: got one, which was great - then ordered a second one: it had a broken wire, returned it the next day - got refunded promptly (Thank you) - ordered a third, which came todayAnd this one's timer doesn't work: will not switch off - all new batteries and followed all the instructions on the pamphletI do love them, and would love a secondCan the company send me one after adequate QC, please ?I have showed my enthusiasm for your product by purchasing it thrice alreadyWill be returning this third one ASAP

When I see a description of rattan, I expect the item I receive to actually be made of rattan. This is a rattan effect plastic that does look ok but it is far too flexible and doesn't hold shape except around the metal frame. The next issue was it is clearly labelled as having 40 LED lights but the one I received only came with 30. Finally it is labelled as having a tartan scarf but that was missing.Now the bad is covered, the good is the model does look good and is easy to fit together. Using batteries it is simple to connect the LEDs up and lasts many hours.Overall though, it is not as described so I cannot recommend

Love the little guy, but the lights aren't as bright as I had hoped. Also came with a few broken parts, but nothing some glue couldn't fix.

I wasn’t sure how a rattan reindeer would be able to go outside but the rattan is actually strong plastic so it is waterproof. It’s wrapped around a strong metal frame. So this can go outside, although it is might be a bit too nice to go outside. It comes cleverly packed. There is minimal assembly. You just have to slot on the head, tail of the antlers, and the lights are already in place. Assembly doesn’t take a minute. They even send you a scarf to tie around the neck joint.It takes 3 x AA batteries. You can’t have it flashing. The timer runs for the usual six hours, so if you put it on at 3 pm, it will go off at bedtime every night without you having to worry about it. They also send you a set of cable ties and tent pegs, so that you can secure your reindeer to the ground. They don’t suggest exactly how you do this. It’s fairly stable indoors but I haven’t tested it outside during windy weather. I guess it would depend how well you secure it with the tent pegs.There are clear English instructions and the import company is based in High Wycombe with an email and a phone number.This is a very attractive Christmas ornament for inside or out. We like it.
