Surrender my Love
As always Johanna writes such amazing books. Selig was a favorite and his live story was wonderful. I loved how everyone was present in this book if you haven’t read this series start with the Fires in Winter one of my favorites.

Classic Lindsey
This is my favorite book of the series. I don't know why. I have read it many times. To me it was tied up too quickly. Even still the characters are endearing.

Vikings to Danes
AUTHOR: JOHANNA LINDSEY is a Romance, Historical Fiction, Fantasy writer. Book (1) FIRES OF WINTER took you from the Celtics of Wales to the Vikings of Norway. Book (2) HEARTS AFLAME from the Vikings of Norway to the Saxons of Wessex. This book SURRENDER MY LOVE from Saxons of Wessex to East Anglia the home of Danes & SaxonsSEXUAL EXPLICITNESS ***compared to the previous two books, this was LightWeight** (marital relationship) "....his manhood was revealed...." (and) "....pleasure drawn from each thrust..."GENRE: Romance, Historical Fiction.SETTING: Wessex and East Anglia 879 A.D.CENTRAL CHARACTERS: SELIG HAARDRAD is first born to Garrick and Brenna Haardrag. His features are more like his Celtic mother as opposed to his Norwegian father. He spends his time traveling between Norway and his newly built residence near his brother-in-law and sister's Wessex manor. ERIKA HARALDSSON, a Dane, lives with and manages her brother's manor in East Anglia. Her personality is civil as compared to being authoritative and she is exceptionally beautiful.SYNOPSIS: Selig voluntarily travels to the Danish King on a mission for Saxon King Alfred. His group is attacked on the way and Selig is left for dead. Having been revived, he seeks shelter at the Haraldsson manor where he is tortured and accused of being a spy rather than being welcomed. Selig's sister rescues him and takes him severely wounded back to Wessex along with Erika Haraldsson by way of a knife at her throat.WHAT I LIKED: Erika's shadow is a great person to know IF you want your neck broken. Kristen is a handful (just like her mother). Sexual descriptions toned down as compared to previous (2) books in this series.WHAT I DID NOT LIKE: Did not like the way that the circumstances surrounding Selig's initial rescue were written.I give this book (4) stars. This series continues to be on my fav list. This author is on my fav list. I appreciate that the author chose to lessen the powerful sexual narratives in this book as compared to the previous (2) books.

Good book.
I enjoyed this book. 4.5 stars. The plot is interesting with Selig incorrectly hating Erika and taking her prisoner. There were some tender moments between them. They didn’t really interact with each other too much until about 40% of the book. I prefer books where the MC’s have more interactions and this didn’t seem to have as many for me. Aside from that, this book appealed to me, especially since the main characters from the first 2 books in this series play a role in this book.

Still Love Reading a Lindsey
The first book by Lindsey I read was the first book she wrote, Captive Bride. I read it so many times I think it fell apart. It had been awhile since I had read the first book in the series about Selig's parents, Fires of Winter, so I reread that one and Hearts Aflame about his sister Kristen. I almost didn't buy this one because of some of the negative reviews but the Kindle version was only around $2 so I thought I would give it a chance.I am glad I did. The book is a lesson in how communication is the only way to overcome mistakes, misunderstanding and assumptions. Many parts of the book contain interactions with his parents, his sister and her husband which I liked. Many were funny as well as sad. Erika's guilt at having ordered his whipping and being unable to stop it was clear in the way she let Selig torment and humiliate her. However, once she felt her debt repaid to him she fought back.I did feel that some of the last of the book could have lasted another few pages. The clearing up of the last misunderstanding was on the last page and seemed a little rushed so I guess really my score is a 4.75. I am thinking Lindsey could rectify this with a story for Erika's brother. I figure that Erika's nephew could be a little older and scaring off any potential brides for his father.

Loved this book just couldn't put it down. Made you feel as if you was there feeling all the emotions that happened. Brilliant I've read all three books.
