Great at first, then not great
I suspected most of the negative reviews were not using their razors correctly. These razors are meant to be used wet. I use shaving cream and get excellent results. The instructions also say to put a drop of baby oil on the blades before the first use. I actually have a bottle of Wahl hair cutting oil. The results were amazing! I couldn't feel anything the first time. No cutting sensation at all.Unfortunately, it didn't last. Soon I was using the oil once a week, then twice. Now two months on and they are quickly degrading. Also the screens in the picture are not the same. They don't do well if your beard has hairs that stick out at odd angles .Now I have to renew my search for decent blades

Staying sharp - 6 month mark
Here's an update: these are still shaving as close as when I bought them. The OEM blades usually would start fading on the closeness by now, and by that I mean it would take longer to get what I felt was a good shave & sometimes I just couldn't get it. Normally at that point I would be ordering new blades. The only issue I have is that the center piece fell out of one of the covers, but it is not affecting the closeness of the shave. Also, I use William's Electric Shave each time I shave. It seems to lubricate the blades & helps with razor burn (plus my wife likes the smell).--------------I've held off reviewing to see if these blades stayed sharp & so far they are still giving a very close shave after a couple months. I even let my wife use my shaver on a trip to shave her legs (normally the kiss of death for any blade) and they're still going strong. Like others, I followed the directions about conditioning them with some oil prior to use. The price is right & so far they're holding up well.

Rating Depends on How often you Shave
If you shave every morning, these do cut very well. But, God forbid, you skip a day, they will pull and tug at your whiskers so bad that you will be looking for an old fashioned razor or your wife's tweezers...After getting these cutters, I noticed that Costco was selling a newer model Norelco with an extra set of cutters for $70, i.e., the same cost as buying two sets of cutters alone directly from Norelco's website. So I bought it, and lo and behold, it does an absolutely fabulous job even with several days of stubble. So I use my old shaver with these cutters for daily shaving to save wear and tear on my new Norelco shaver, but if I skip a day, I go with the Norelco OEM. Not sure if I will ever buy these again. I would be saving $17 for each set of these cutters compared to Norelco direct, which is just a little over $1 per month...but I would probably use the OEM Norelco cutters for two years, so would only save a little over 50 cents per month...Or maybe I will just buy a new Norelco shaver from Costco every three or four years.

Great Value! Excellent customer outreach.
I purchased these replacement blades for my Norelco 5000. They arrived as expected and installed easily. I followed the included directions, and lubricated each blade with a drop of baby oil. First shave was very comfortable and smooth. These blades don't look exactly like the original Norelco blades (on the whisker grill side), but they fit very well. The only reason for dropping one star is I don't yet know how well they will hold up. If they last like my original blades, I will raise this rating to five stars in a few months. At less than half the price of the Norelco replacements, these seem to be a great value.

Better than the manufacturer's version!
I replaced the blades on my Norelco 5000 series shaver after about a year of moderate use. The shaver was great and gave a comfortable, reasonably close shave. I was keen to continue using it and replaced the blades with a genuine set earlier in the year. They were awful. Not sharp at all; pulled on my light growth, didn't cut properly and seemed to rotate much slower that the originals. Horrible.I stopped using it but recently read that these blades were a great alternative. I was skeptical; they are cheaper and I was worried about an OEM fit/function. My concern was groundless - these blades are AWESOME. They cut like the original blades and give a close, comfortable shave. I highly recommend them as an alternative that is SUPERIOR to the OEM product and cheaper to boot. It's rare that you can get something better for less but in this case it's true.

Great Close Shave
I have been using Norelco replacement heads for 20 yrs. The Silver Dragon Universal replacement heads shave better I think than any Norelco replacement heads that I have ever purchased. These replacement heads easily provide a close shave. I will be a returning customer.

I threw mine away after a month and ordered real Philips Norelco replacements
I wanted to save money in my Costco-purchased Series 5000 razor. I opted for these which were cheaper than the replacements by Philips Norelco. I got sick of getting crappy shaves that cut off only about half the beard growth each morning. So sick I threw these out and bought the Norelco SH50 replacements (which replace the earlier HQ8 replacements). They give a close smooth shave. Note that I am NOT connected to Philips Norelco in any way and don't own stock in that company.

Horrible blades - Pulling hair from my face
Not a fan, followed instructions & even did the dot of lubricant before use. These things pull hair out of my face rather than cut regularly. Compared to OEM blades, these are garbage.

Better than the OEM
I liked it although grudgingly. They look flimsy.
