Better than standard plumbers solder - thicker. For frig compressor copper tubes. Brazing
Plumbers solder requires tighter fits and melts and runs thinner, cannot be built up over a gap or space. This can be formed and shaped to fill in a gap.Such silver solder does not require flux between copper to copper brazing, nor copper to silver. I think it can be used to join ferrous to non-ferrous as well with flux.More than enough for a small project without purchasing a huge quantity. The rods are more like wire so they are smaller than expected, but they worked just fine.I used a MAPP gas torch tip (with air inlet holes at the base) with MAPP gas in the yellow can similar to below although I think a basic plumbers torch for the blue propane fuel would work as well. Torch tips that have an air inlet hole that allows air to mix in with the gas burn a little hotter. Check the temp range of the torch tip. The brazing rods require heat range from about 1,200 to 1,500 degrees Fahrenheit.Good build-up ability. Good working temperature. Good adhesion. This would work well for art sculpture projects for assembling various metal types without a welder too.https://www.amazon.com/Intensity-Trigger-Portable-Welding-Stripping/dp/B08LS83W94/ref=sr_1_25?crid=3OBKMXJ9UQCBP&keywords=plumber%2Bsoldering%2Btorch%2Bkit&qid=1704828841&sprefix=plumber%2Btorch%2Caps%2C188&sr=8-25&th=1

Ordered to get an old fuel sending unit repaired (from the 70's).I used this on a steel plate to secure a new larger steel line for a fuel pickup/sending unit to keep the old part alive and functional. I did use some flux on the backside of the joint to help pull the braze thru and seal the opening; I honestly couldnt tell how much the flux was needed in my application but thats just an old habit to help things along that I always try to do.After finishing the braze and letting everything cool off I tested the seal and had zero openings/gaps; to me this showed the silver content did its job in letting it all flow a bit sooner and easier. Compared to other braze rods ive used for this that i have had to inspect and reapply a bit more after the initial flow, I did NOT have to do that with these. For my application I only used one whole rod, but the other 24 stayed in the little tube container for future use. The silicone caps for the tube are nice and snug and kept all the rods contained, and made it so i had no qualms about throwing it in the rest of the solder/brazing stash and not worrying about them escaping or falling out for me to deal with later (which i appreciate).I didnt try these with propane, so I cannot comment on that, as I used butane and had no problem getting them to a steady liquid state for use.Ill be keeping these in mind for future applications, or at the very least the vendor for other brazing rods.Cost for product wasnt bad at all and the rods arrived fairly quickly as well.

less tiges sont très fines. Je dois en utiliser trois à la fois pour faire une bonne soudure
