Q: Anyone have any experience of this shutoff device actually successfully shuting off the water after leaked developed, preventing flooding?

I tested it and it works perfectly. But the shut off needs to be near the potential leak. If its too far away it wont get wet enough and wont expand the disk. Its a great invention. Get some extra disks and try yourself to make sure the set up is positioned well.

Q: My tubing is 3/8, would this valve work?

This accepts 1/4” tube so no it won’t work. Unless you get two 3/8” to 1/4” couplers and some 1/4” tube then you can make it work.
