What is the difference between roku ultra and roku ultra lt?

Both the Ultra and the Ultra LT have headphone jacks. The Ultra includes a premium headphone to plug into the headphone jack, you will have to supply your own headphone jacks for the Ultra LT. A word of caution, this unit is a 2019 model. The 2019 model has an ARM Cortex A53 CPU with 1 gig of RAM (memory), while the 2020 model has a faster ARM Cortex A55 CPU with 2 gig of RAM memory. The 2019 model has a published model number 4662x, while the 2020 model has a published model number 4801x.

Does the MicroSD port allow one to record streaming content for later viewing?

Absolutely Not. It allows storage of App information so that apps load faster. Think of it as RAM.

Does this have to be on the homes main tv? If so what version should you use for a bedroom tv?

You would have one of the Roku Ultra LT in each room that has a TV. I have one in each of the 3 bedrooms and one in the living room (total of 4) The living room Roku connects directly to my internet gateway (hard wired) and the ones in the bedrooms use wireless wi-fi. All 4 Roku’s are tied to my Roku account and are used independently of each other.

Do you need one for each tv

We used to have just one and we would move it from living room to bedroom, then back to livingroom, then bedroom ... Then we bought a second. Since it connects to the TV via hdmi cable it needs to be within cable distance to the TV. BTW I did not have good results connecting to the internet via wifi with the Ultra, we use ethernet to connect the Ultra to the internet.

I have been trying to get the Amazon TV stick to communicate with my Plex server for a long time ! with no success either Wi-Fi or Ethernet connections. I have followed all the YouTube videos on how to connect TV Stick with Plex and gave up with trying to connect. I was even contemplating using a USB stick loaded with my programs direct to TV! I wanted the Films, TV series etc to go through the AV amp with surround sound. I decided to try Roku and what an easy installation it was! , It picked up both the wifi and the ethernet connections with no problem and instantly connected to the Plex server after downloading the plex client via Roku downloads. It was such a relief to have everything working as it should!! I would thoroughly and highly recommend this Roku device

To be simple I used my existing connection to tv, old remote and I'm not using HDMI to my stereo; my tv's older as well. Through my 192khz optical to coaxial converter 5.1 Dolby Digital works fine (kicks in from PCM when movie starts) but DD+ does not. I think it would thru HDMI. HDR wouldn't work on my setup and the Roku feedback said as much even tho I tried forcing it. Otherwise the 2160p 60hz picture works flawlessly and the 5.1 DD is great if possibly a tad softer on some sources (?) but not others. So works great. I had no glitches or problems after testing it all afternoon, and no upgrade/activation problems (I'm an experienced Roku user). I can't speak for the remote and built-in audio function as I'm not using it and don't intend to. Basic function is flawless (set your Roku and tv to Dolby/Auto out) and it works fine with old remote. I'll update if it fails. I say buy. Having cat cable jack for direct wired connection to router is a plus.
