Are the records ok to rest on these 2 slats instead of having a solid base?

I don’t like the slats as they can damage the record’s jacket when inserting the album if there’s another crate stacked above it. There should be a solid bottom. I won’t buy more of these because of the slats, I’d prefer a full size smooth bottom if you stack these.

No. But you can find a flat piece of wood to fit.

How many can you stack high?

I don't know how many I have 2 stack.

Can the top hold the Crosley record player?

Yes, you need to put a lid on the top and the player will fit.
