Quality travel casting rod
The quality that KastKing provides in their one-piece rods now extends to their 7 ft., 4-piece travel casting rod, the Valiant Eagle Passage. It has a sensitive touch, well-balanced feel, and a quality build on the connections and ring guides, and packs away neatly in a protective clear tube. This makes bait casting with a 7ft rod while on the road possible because it takes up so little space. The look is sleak, not chunky. Overall, this is a fantastic travel rod for the price.

Great travel rod
I recently picked up the KastKing travel fishing rod, and after testing it out on a surf fishing trip, I’m thoroughly impressed. I opted for the longest and most sturdy model in their lineup, hoping it would hold up to the challenges of surf fishing—and it did not disappoint. The rod breaks down into four pieces, making it incredibly easy to pack down and take with me on my travels. It fit perfectly into my checked luggage, which was a major convenience since I didn’t have to worry about carrying around a bulky rod tube or paying extra for oversized baggage. The ability to break the rod into smaller pieces while maintaining such great performance is a huge selling point for anyone who travels frequently. When it comes to performance, this rod really shines. Despite its compact nature, it’s both sensitive and strong. The sensitivity is noticeable, as I could feel every nibble and shift in the water, which is essential when you’re surf fishing. At the same time, the rod has enough backbone to handle larger fish. I had the chance to hook into a barracuda during my trip, and while it wasn’t the biggest catch, the rod performed beautifully. It gave me the power and control I needed to reel in the fish without any issues.Overall, the KastKing travel rod is an excellent choice for anglers who need something portable but don’t want to sacrifice performance. It’s strong, sensitive, and easy to transport, making it a perfect option for surf fishing and other travel-based fishing adventures. For the price, it's hard to beat the value this rod offers.

Overall good quality but needs slight improvements to make it a great value.
I have the 6'6" medium moderate-fast spinning rod and overall impressions are good. The cork handles feel nice but but are a bit thin and too smooth for me. I'd prefer a slightly rougher feel to them to allow for more gripThe reel seat seems fairly sturdy but I do wish it had the metal wrap support to prevent the plastic from cracking outward under repeated use.The rod itself seems to be pretty good quality. The rod guides are very nice and make for smooth retrieval. The rod pieces stick together fairly tightly and don't feel as if they will slip during use although I do feel that an index mark could be added to each piece at the connection points for quick alignment when assembling so extra time isn't spent having to line up each piece to get it straight.Overall I feel this a very nice rod that allows for a compact package when broken down. Fit and finish are very good but could use a few slight improvements to make it top notch.

Perfect for packing!
I purchased the KastKing Valiant Eagle Passage 6'6 spinning rod and was impressed with the travel case it came with. The rod is in 4 pieces and easy to assemble quickly. I like the light weight of the rod and the stiffer feel for use in jigging for walleyes. I can also see it to be used easily for panfish and bass. I liked how it felt casting. The fact that it can be broken down is a big plus! This rod is perfect for camping and travel, especially anyone who plans on heading to a destination like the Boundary Waters.

Just what i was looking for
I was looking for an eight-to-nine-foot travel rod to fit in my luggage so that when I go on vacation I can surf fish even when there are some decent waves breaking. I received this the other day. It came packaged in a nice durable container that will fit well in my luggage. I paired it with a 3000 KastKing Sharky III spinning reel with 30lb braid. It felt good together so since I live on a large lake in TN, I decided to take it out and try it for topwater fishing for striper to see how it would handle and hold up. I tied on a 1oz pencil popper and was amazed at how effortlessly and how far it casted it. I calculated by handle revolutions that I was getting between 60 and 65 yards per cast. I ended up hooking a decent 34" striper with it and it held up and fought the fish well. It should work out great for surf fishing for Reds, Pompanos, and Blues but I will probably continue to use it here at home as well. I ordered the 8'6", Fast, Heavy option and it seems more like a med-heavy than heavy action but ended up perfect for my needs.

Breaks easily
It’s extremely cheap and broke the first time I set the hook. I was concerned when I opened the package and saw how thin the rod was for a medium heavy action rod. Also the guide holes are extremely small for a spinning rod.*update* the seller reached out to me after I got a refund and sent me out a new rod free of charge. I’m going to try this again but only with smaller lures and fish. I don’t think it will hold up against a snook or red fish.

Great rod for the price!
Great rod for the price. Very lightweight and seems pretty reliable and strong for its size. This rod has pretty good action and performance. It breaks down so you can travel with it as well. Would recommend to others looking to find a rod that performs and travels well.

Compact and good for travel
PACKAGE - the rod arrived in the transparent plastic tube with 2 caps on the end. It looks good for store and transportation. Maybe it would be more convenient if tube has a strap and you can hang it on the shoulder. Small modification to current design - add a tab with hole to the each cap and use that tab to attach strap.Build Quality - Kastking usually has good quality and I can't see any issue with arrived rod at current time.Power and Action - I have 8'6" MH fast action rod. In reality this rod doesn't feel as fast action. It seems more to moderate fast on my opinion. I will check it in different condition (jigging with 1 oz jig for walleye, pier fishing for salmon and steelhead, crankbait for bass, pike and walleye) and provide more details to my review later.

Very packable and casts well.
I bought the 8’6” 4pc MH for a trip to Nova Scotia, where I was hoping to do some shore fishing. I was not disappointed. Though the rod seems underweight for a medium-heavy it performed very well with a #4 spinning reel with 10lbs line and a 1.5” buzz bomb lure. I was able to cast over.100 feet, which was fine for the near shore striped bass and mackerel I got into (mission accomplished). This particular rod would not likely be adequate for BC pink salmon fishing but the heavy one, which I suspect is more like a true med-heavy, would likely do the trick when matched to the right reel.I’d recommend this rod with the caveat that you should consider the heavy over the med-heavy unless you like fishing light rods.
