Whats the screen material?

It is a screen mesh (not metal... must be some type of plastic, as it can rip). It's very flexible and allowed our dog to go in and out to the backyard with no issues of rips. The sides are a bit like a fabric similar to a quilt binding and can be attached with the velcro or the tacks it comes with it. We found we needed to add additional velcro and put tacks on the top to keep it secure after a few months.

What is the material? Why can you only buy 1?

We bought one. It comes with two panels that are attached at the top.

Can this be used on a smaller door?

It can easily be used for a narrower door. Just adjust the velcro. As for shorter, you may want to cut it and then hem it.

Can you cut this material

Yes. It can also be stitched. We needed to shorten it a bit and it was easy to do on a sewing machine.
