Better than Owlet
I recommend this to new parents who need to sleep soundly at night and want or need to know when their are changes in their baby’s heart rate or oxygen saturation. This works with the monitor or you can download the app. An alarm will sound when either variable is outside of the parameters that you set for it using the app. The data stores in the app and updates each time the app is connected with the sock. For us this was useful when we needed to present data to our pediatrician. It will disconnect if the baby is moving too much but you can set it to alarm when it does so that you know if they are awake or if the sock has come loose. At first there is a slight learning curve in fitting the sock and overall use but it shouldn’t take long to figure it out.

Doesn't work, use with caution
I bought this because we were bringing out 32 week old preemie home from the NICU and I wanted some extra help watching out for any apnea events. I tried using it on my finger and toes and could never get it to pick up. I strapped it onto my son's foot as directed and it wouldn't pick him up either. It was able to eventually read on me twice, but gave extreme inaccurate numbers. I just returned it and didn't bother.

Takes practice, but mostly great
We used Owlet for our first child 4 years ago, but had to find an alternative when the real-time oxygen sat/heart rate feature went away after an app update and the sock stopped charging. We purchased this for our newborn hoping it would be similar to Owlet, and it's not bad but there are some quirks and a learning curve.1) Connection- from the sock to the base station can be spotty. It can take a few attempts to get the sock to read initially and also connect to base station. You may have to adjust sock and turn it on/off a few times. We've gotten better at applying the sock with practice which has helped. It still intermittently disconnects/cannot get a reading but it alarms/chimes to alert you there's a connection issue.2) No distance monitoring- You have to keep the base station close to the sock or it loses connection (but it's a nice feature that the base station holds a charge and you can move it/take it with you around the house) don't expect to be able to take the base station more than about 50 feet away from where the sock is.3) Accuracy- once you get the hang of how to put the sock on, it's pretty darn accurate. I've read reviews that indicate on smaller babies it's harder to get a reading and we found this is definitely true. The sock reads more consistently and with less disconnection issues as our newborn has grown to a 3-month old. We did have a lot of errant readings (false lows) during the newborn stage. You will also get false lows on cold feet.4) Alarm- I find the alarm tone to be much less stressful than Owlet. When Owlet had a critical low reading, the base station would flash red and alarm a very loud urgent tone, which was so stressful as a new parent to wake up to. This alarm is more of a chime and the volume is adjustable. Even on the lowest volume setting it will wake up sound sleepers. I like that the low reading and disconnect tone are the same, because I don't wake up in a panic automatically thinking it's a critical low reading.5) You pick the range for low O2 sat alarm- I love that you can pick the critical low/alarm threshold. It bothered me with Owlet that it would only alarm if sats dipped below 80%. I want to know if a potential issue waaaaaay before 80%, so I have it set to alarm at 90% or lower O2 sats.Summary: With practice, this is a great tool and is similar to original Owlet with real-time oxygen saturation and heart rate readings.

Hard to keep connected to app
Really easy to use I wish the signal would be a little better the app is great when it works. Not sure how to keep it sinc to the app if it gets turned off it is so hard to reconnect.

Not accurate, did not work for me.
I bought this in hopes to monitor my newborn’s movements and pulse at night. I tried to use it at about 3 weeks old and it didn’t fit her foot well. I tried it again at 6 weeks and kept it connected to my phone. The ranges I set for pulse were 120-150, I believe. Almost every 2-5 minutes I would receive an alert for too high or too low pulse when baby’s vitals are normal. Then, on top of that I checked the app’s monitor again around midnight and it wasn’t connected then again in the morning it didn’t connect from 1-4am for some reason. When I went on the app around 8 am the only recorded time was 8pm-12am roughly. Also, it shows the pulse and o2 and movement. However, not movement if baby tried to roll or anything. I tried this for two nights and decided it was a waste of money.Conclusively, I felt that it caused me to worry more having this monitor and the alarmIs very loud. Baby may have been too young for this, maybe that is why the monitor was not accurate. However, the product says 0-4 years old. I would assume it would work for newborns 0-3.
