Love the width, weight, chain, sturdiness
I have English Bulldogs with big fat necks, necks bigger than there heads, so regular collars do not work. I like these because of the chain, the other martingales, just do not release quick enough, they may release quick 10 times, but it is always when your not looking that they do not. With bulldogs, or any dogs, that they release immediately, you do not want to keep choking your dog. Also because they big necks, they are always wide collars, I like that these are nice and light, but sturdy enough. Again for bulldogs or any dog that the thick collars are not cutting in to them if left on while they are relaxing. So I love the size, width, chain, sturdiness and weight of these collars. Just wish they made them with more colors, patterns, more decorative, I look at the other collars and wish I could use them, that said I like the pink, turquoise and lavender. Oh Yea, I love the price, have bought lots of them for my dogs and as gifts, plan on buying more, I do not leave them on all the time and hate spending time looking for them,

Super Training collar
I purchased this collar on the recomendation of my trainer. I have a young, exuberant German shepherd. Her flat collar was useless for trainig purposes and a prong collar was too extreme. I am not a fan of choke collars and this seemed like an acceptable alternaive.First, it is an attractive color. The raspberry is pretty without being frou frou. It is easily adjustable, from thirteen to eighteen inches. It doesn't have a separate release, you slip it over the dog's head and adjust to fit. The small chain portion makes it effective in training without hurting the dog.I like this collar. It is pretty, effective and inexpensive.

Comfortable collar for bulldog
Doesn’t choke the dog but does stop the pulling. Also doesn’t make marks in the neck hair

Works VERY WELL for leash training, without hurting dog!
Overly exited Scottie dog boy puppies. We have two boys and a girl (a family, Mom, Dad and pup). We got both this product and another similar to it for our two Scottie males who needed some extra help learning heal. This product more effective than the other one we bought that was similar for the male dog. Grows with puppy very well, stays put (the other collar can be wiggled out of, often ending up like a belt on the other male Scottie). We keep our Scotties long hair in cooler weather, so we did notice some issues with fur getting tangled up a bit around the slip part in the front from time to time, something to think about if you have a long haired or extremely curly haired animal.Make this collar a "breakaway" if the dog gets caught on something and I'd give it 5 stars. We often go camping or hiking in the national forests, and dogs are required to be on a leash or at respond to voice command with collars on. We have to leave this collar at home or bring a breakaway collar along with us to slip onto the puppy. Scotties are known to be a bit bull-headed when it comes to 'minding' so this was a beautiful solution for training our puppy with that does not harm the puppy or choke the puppy.

this style works well for big dogs
I love this combo collar! I used to keep a choker chain on my dogs because I need to be able to grab the ring in order to pull my dog out of a scuffle. The choker chain was noisy when the would eat or drink, banging against the bowl. This collar fits better on her and doesn't hang down to hit the bowl. All of our dogs have them now.

Returned due to markings left on collar. Originally impressed until it was worn...
I ended up returning this after one use as my white puppy turned black around his neck from the chain. We ended up going with a Martingale collar for puppy training which we are still using six months later. I liked how the collar looked and that it was not a full fledged choker chain, but the residue it left had me unsettled. Amazon was wonderful during the return process.Runs big-I bought this collar as my puppy is in agility training and dog training classes and everyone has a choke collar which I am against. I was using the Guardian, but we train other dogs also and the other owners were not handling the guardian collar correctly resulting in undue pulling on his nose.My dog would be in a 20 inch choke chain which I wont buy so I bought the medium. With the medium tightened all the way it is still too big. I just purchased the small, but plan on keeping the medium as I know he will grow into it (he is only 4 1/2 months old). So far it has not mattered as my dog does not pull due to all his training, but I did do a correction once when he chased a cat and he immediately went to my side. I think this is perfect for dogs in training who are told to buy a choke collar. He also only wears it for training purposes although I know many use them all the time.

unexpectedly well made
At the price point I wasn't expecting much which is ok since mine is a young dog with no discipline issues. The collar is perfect. Fabric is sturdy, pliable yet thick enough to rest nicely within the thick plush coat of my dog without causing damage. Chain link cinch is just the right size, not too bulky or clunky. Great everyday collar.

Good Product - check size to make sure you order the correct one
UPDATE: I suggest the "Martingale" collar withOUT the chain. Rather get the all fabric model. The chain is so heavy it constantly slides down (gravity) and puts the collar in an improper and unsafe position around my dogs neck.ALSO: TRIPLE CHECK SIZEPREFERENCE: I Got a RED (all fabric, no chain) one and it's not only great, but EVERYONE loves the way the RED accents and looks so good on my Blue Nose American Pit Bull Terrier.-----------------------------------------------------------Good sturdy quality. Got large, which is just a bit too large after adjusting it to the smallest setting. Also, the chain portion is so heavy, that when there is no tension on the leash, the mental slides down and into the wrong position, making the effectiveness much less, and constantly readjusting it around back to the top of my dogs neck. Also, the metal makes a lot of noise when shaking at a normal walking pace, or when my dog shakes his head.See: STARMARK COLLARS. Blue Plastic Pinch collar - is the greatest collar I've ever used.

Strong
Collar is nice and wide and strong, it does need adjusting fairly regularly as it doesn't hold to the adjusted length for long.

Safety
Theses are the best collars for a dog loose when on and tight when you need control on a leash.

Nice - but didn't work
Puppy pulls a lot. Sadly this didn't really help. Got a harness instead. It is still my go-to collar though. Great design, color, durabity and its pretty lightweight.
