100 ft. 18 Gauge Stranded Flexible Dual Conductor Bonded Zip Cord Wire, Oxygen Free Pure Copper - UL Listed Class 2

Excellent red/black copper wire. I bought the 18 AWG to use for low voltage, low current, short run DC hobby electronics. Works perfectly. This wire is easily crimped with terminals. So many manufacturers are using copper clad aluminum wire...which is terrible. Additionally, the trend is also toward "hair thin" strands...which is even worse. Hard to crimp, flimsy, and with not hold up. This wire has thicker copper strands and with "old school" quality and durability that I need. Excellent for speaker builders (which I also use this wire for).UPDATE: Used up the 50' spool pretty quick. Ordered the 100' spool. Really excellent 18/2 wire.

This is a natural copper wire, i.e. Not tinned copper wire. For this reason, this wire has a slight oxidization covering which the PVC insulation is unable to supress .. Although it doesn’t impair its performance for powering speakers, it does make soldering more difficult as you have to use a more aggressive flux. Nevertheless, it’s a Good value for the price. I recommend it if you don’t need to make a lot of soldered connections.

I found out that finding the right gauge of wire and the right conductor on-line isn't easy.Many sellers are selling wire with ALUMINUM conductors that are copper plated.Also, many of them sell their wire under some "gauge" of wire that isn't even close tothe AWG size.This MaxBrite wire is EXCELLENT, sized right and with conductors of pure copper.I'll be buying some other sizes from them soon.

The wire arrived in pristine condition and on time; it was packed in a plastic mailer envelope and then in its own cardboard box. The black stripe is substantial and will make it easy to maintain polarity. The wire is pure copper with adequate insulation. I have ordered another reel of 16 gauge by the same manufacturer. Have not used it yet but will use it to wire my Lionel layout. Happy Camper.

There is no need to use heavier gauge wire for speakers. It is harder to work with and it gains you nothing. The theory about line loss over long wire runs is technically true, but as a practical matter...…………… well it just does not matter. In fact, 20 gauge would work just as well for less money.

This is really the perfect thickness speaker wire for larger and smaller speakers highly recommend

I have now wired 3 cars using this brand of speaker wire. Spins and bends easily. I havent measured the wire but its close to advertised gauge. works great.

I bit thinner than I use, but that's what i ordered. I use it for vehicle lights that are placed in different areas. I like it, I've but several rolls over the years.
