The grace of a ballerina and the power of a wrestler!
As a seasoned wood splitter, I must say the WEN 56208 6.5-Ton Electric Log Splitter is the best sidekick I could ask for. Not only does it handle my wood-splitting chores with the grace of a ballerina and the power of a wrestler, but it also gives me a good sense of satisfaction every time I use it! Firstly, let's talk about build quality. This machine is sturdier than my determination to tell dad jokes at family gatherings. I've used it extensively, and it's as reliable as my morning number 2's. Now, the power. Oh, the power! This log splitter tackles wood like it's going through a hot knife, and I'm talking about butter that's been left out in the sun on a hot summer day. It's so powerful, I half expect it to start splitting atoms next. Portability is another plus. It's easier to move around than convincing my friends to come over for a BBQ (and that's saying something). Whether it's from the shed to the yard or just repositioning it for a better angle, this splitter moves more smoothly than my best pick-up lines. The cherry on top? My loyalty to WEN products continues to grow. Each time I use this log splitter, I feel like it's whispering sweet nothings to me about quality and efficiency. It's become a trusty companion in my wood-splitting adventures, much like my favorite flannel shirt. In conclusion, the WEN 56208 Electric Log Splitter doesn't just split logs; it splits my face into a big, hearty smile every time I use it. It's a fantastic product that keeps the firewood - and the fun - flowing!

A great splitter (with two minor gripes)
This thing made short work of the ash rounds that I had stacked up at my house - it's a beast. Assembly was straightforward and operation is simple and effective. I have two criticisms: 1) the metal plate that shrouds the rear operation lever is flimsier than the rest of the machine, which is a big issue becasue when you are checking the fluid levels the whole splitter is supposed to be tipped back to sit directly on that little plate. Poor design, this part should be reinforced! 2) the stopper ring that shortens the cycle of the splitter has to be REALLY cranked hard or it will scrape along the rod a bit with every split. This took some paint off which was disappointing. To stop it from moving I had to tighten it so hard I was worried it was going to break. Aside from these small design flaws it's a great machine for a great price. This is my 3rd WEN tool and probably won't be my last.

This is a great electric splitter
This splitter is amazing. I waffled on whether or not to get an electric splitter because I've only used the gas powered ones in the past. If you're just doing standard logs, nothing bigger than 6x6 or 8" round, this splitter really performs well! I'm a tool guy, So I'm pretty cautious with electric tools. But this splitter is worth every penny. I promise!

Takes two hands to use
The first splitter I got was a lemon. Amazon was great, they suggested I try another one because of the reviews, I'm glad I did. This one is night and day over the first one. I subtracted a star because the wheels and handle is really cheap. It's also a poor design, it knocked off the handle when I split a log. The holes had metal pieces still in them and the supplied bolts wouldn't go in well because they were stripped. Also It should have a pin to release and fold it up, for use and storage. Also the cotter pins for the wheels are of a lower gauge than a paper clip, I'm surprised they didn't break when I folded them around the axle. But I just put the wheels on, BC as I mentioned it is either with the stand or without, not both. I thought it would be easily converted to the ground or waist level with a removable pin. But it takes a wrench, some back strain, and about 10 bolts if you want it waist level. I left it ground level for use and storage so that just took putting the wheels on. Even with those cheap things it did what I bought it for well, so much better than the other one, I think those giving it one star probably just got a lemon as well. The first one was very slow and just struggled if it couldn't split a log. It didn't stop if a log was too tough, it just kept pushing without success. Then about the 10th split it just hummed. It wouldn't move to split a log. This one lets you know if it's not able to split a log. It works so much faster and is a solid splitter. But if it stops because it can't split one, I found if you just turn the log it split them. I think it's just how the grain of the wood is where the wedge hits the log. I'm happy though with my success, I didn't have high expectations with it after the first splitter. It really surprised me by how fast this one was and how well it split a fresh cut Japanese Maple that even my chainsaw struggled to get through. As you can see this one still got the job done. It took me about 3 hours to split all that, because some had to be cut down below 20 inches. It worked for all I needed, so I will be keeping it. I would also recommend it for someone just using it for smaller trees around the house. You need to remember to open the black twist knob, then close it when you're done using it. Also there needs to have slack in the cord as the motor moves with the splitter so it will use that slack when it splits. The first time I tried it without an extension cord and it pulled the cord out of the socket. And don't leave the handle on it BC when you're splitting a log. Also make sure to check the fluid level before each use. It split tough logs that I would still be out there working with an axe, 3 hours later. I am pleased, it got the job done, I hope it lasts through my next project, the metal around the motor had a small dent in it when I got it, so that's pretty thin as well. I hope the savings they got from using cheap parts elsewhere they put into the motor. It says it's over 100 lbs and I believe it. The wheels work on smooth concrete but are useless in grass or dirt.

Was a bit challenging to set up but overall a very good splitter. Pay attention to where you plan to use the splitter in relation to a power source. The recommended length of power cord is no longer than 50 ft. I would suspect this is a condition of all splitters and not this specific model.

Log splitter works great and splits big logs! Used to split stuff 20inches in diameter! Only downfall is it showed up damaged and took some jerry rigging to get it to work right. Unfortunately for that I have to give it a poor review. I paid a lot of money for this and am very disappointed.
