This inspiring introductory guide provides all the information beginners need to raise ducks successfully in the yard or on a small homestead or farm. Ducks are quickly gaining on chickens as popular animals for the backyard homestead or small farm. They are friendly, productive, good at eating pests, remarkably healthy, and easier to raise than chickens in many ways. Plus, they are exceptionally adorable! This accessible introductory guide features original photography tracking the growth and care of a small flock of backyard ducks, and addresses everything the beginner duck keeper needs to know to be successful, including breed selection, housing, feeding, health care, understanding behavior, and egg and meat production. Review: Just loved reading through this book! Very Informative!!!!!! - There is so much information in this little book! We bought some incubators (From desertcart) to hatch some quail and my cousin asked about ducks also. This is jam-packed with info for keeping a small number of ducks in your backyard or acreage. The author, Gail Damarow, goes into much information about what kind are best for ornamental, eggs, or meat. Also, how loud or quiet they are. Excellent pic on anatomy!!!! All-in-all a very informative book!!!!! Pam Thomas Review: Great informative duck book - Love the book!! Itโs very informative and love the glossy pages and pictures. It was very helpful.

Really good book for both duck beginners or intermediate.
I found this book originally at Tractor Supply, but saw that it was cheaper on Amazon, so I ordered from here. I've had 2 Runner Ducks for over a year now, and learned a lot in that time. But this book was well-written, and full of information I did not previously know. So it was definitely worth the buy.

Very informational and fast delivery. Cheaper than at Tractor Supply too, as I saw this book just yesterday there for much more $$.

Great resource for us newbies
I am getting ready to live in an agricultural community far away from zoning and HOAs. Two things Iโve always wanted, chickens and DUCKS! For me this book has been informative (in a very easy to understand discussion) and really helpful in my decisions and planning for my ducks. I donโt have them yet but I fully expect to and feel this book with be a continued resource moving forward
