Manhattan Toy Artful Skwish Wooden Baby Rattle and Motor Skill Activity Toy for Infants and Toddlers

I bought this for my niece when she was around three/four months and she took to it immediately. I purchased other toys but this one was her absolute favorite and it kept her entertained for long stretches at a time. She was working on her grip and this was easy for her to hold on her own. It is super lightweight. When she rotates it the wooden beads in the middle move and hit the end bead things and it makes a light sound that she enjoys. It flattens depending on how its squished. She also is chewing on the ends. I would think the wooden balls on the ends would hurt but she loves it so it probably soothes her gums. The quality of the toy is also great because she is now eight months and the toy shows no signs of wear and tear. At this point she doesn't really play with it, but it might interest again when she gets a bit older.

The quality of this is so great! The toy itself is well made and the strings are stretchy, so it is a key to collapse if your kiddo falls on it (prevents injury). Pretty entertaining and makes a pleasant sound!

I bought this toy right before having my baby. My husband and I were trying to go for the "natural look" when it came to baby toys (That didn't last too long). This was one of the very few uncolored, wooden toys we could find! For the first month or so, it just sat as a visually pleasing item that we liked to play with and twirl and shake in front of the baby. It held his attention pretty well, as it makes an interesting clicky noise when the beads move. Now that he's a bit older (6mo), he loves it!! He shakes it, chews on it, "skwish" it, throws it, absolutely loves it! He still likes when we twirl it and shake it for him, but when someone brings his basket of toys, it's one of the first he usually grabs. The bars are large and easy for his clumsy little hands to hold. We love that it's got a nontoxic finish and that it looks good just sitting on the table. I would definitely buy more of the natural line of toys from Manhattan toy.

My baby loves to grab this because it is lightweight and she can feel the different textures of the wood and the elastic strings. All the corners are smooth and rounded in case it falls.The high contrast colors make it fun for her to look at (even before she was able to hold objects).It is stretchy with the elastic and makes noises in all directions when the round balls move along the wooden bars.

I was interested in buying this after my infant son kept trying to lean forward to grab the cord for my phone charger, and I saw this and immediately made the connection of my wrapped charger to the connections between the wooden pieces on this toy. It sure is easy to grab for little hands and it is light weight, so it is easy to move around. My son likes to bang it up and down and can do so easily, where it will making small noises for the pieces moving around and also whatever noises that he decides to hit it against. My son was delayed with fine motor skills, so he had trouble holding bigger items, and the strings along this are so easy to hold, that it is a perfect toy for very young babies when they are just starting to hold onto objects and reach for them, the large size makes it an easy target to grab at. It is very durable and made of quality materials. This is an item I will buy for other parents with young infants.

This is my 4 month old baby's favorite toy. It's lightweight and easy to grasp as well as interesting and aesthetically pleasing.

This is a GREAT toy! I was a little concerned at first that my 6 month old might fall onto it and hurt himself but this was constructed for babies. The toy collapses flat in the event that a baby should fall on it. The item is very well made and I love how there is no paint on it and it's all natural. The only reason I'm giving it one less star is that my son is in the "everything in his mouth" phase and he seems to be able to push the toy into his mouth and gag himself a little.

We love this toy! It’s the perfect size for my daughters hands, and is easy to hang on to. The beads make a pleasant noise, and the toy itself is attractive if it gets left sitting around. We’ve had it for 3 months and it’s surprisingly durable— this is something I would buy again or gift in a heartbeat.
