I bought this splitter for a special application that I wasn't sure would work. My desire was to use it with a unique dock I was using with a new 11" tablet. Obviously, I needed it to separate the power and audio signals - from the dock. After hooking it up I was pleasantly surprised that it worked. The tablet is charging correctly now, and the sound is being routed properly to my audio system.What was unique about my situation you might ask? The dock I was using was a special purpose dock used for a popular hand held game device.

First processor monitoring sunlight, air temperature and water temperature for a pool solar heating system. 2nd processor monitoring wind speed and wind direction.

Purchased a jump pack. It has ability to charge multiple devices so with a few extra purchases to be able to plug everything up. We can now recharge two phones and two helmet communicators so at the same time without tons on it extra cords. This is perfect for traveling on the motorcycle

There was nothing that I did not like. I have wireless ear phones and had misplaced my y cable and this worked perfectly .

One from a different company had gotten broken, was afraid I would have to pay a lot to get it replaced, found it on Amazon of course, and it was perfect, and only about half the cost of the other one.
