Great product
Got this for my 14 year old grandson and he’s loving it. He’s made 2 spoons so far and planning to learn more and make more stuff. I’m glad the glove is included in the kit and everything is easy to use.

Great starter set
I don't know much about whittling as I never learned but my teen is enjoying these. The set has everything she's needed so far and she says it seems to be well made. Hopefully they do the job for many years to come.

Needed additional sharpening, but otherwise ideal as a first set. Allows you to try out all the things you might want to do without investing in premium tools before you're sure you're going to be a lifelong 'whittler' or woodworker. Good x-mas gift for a kid or adult who likes the outdoors.

A great way to start the whittling journey
This is absolutely a great gift. If you have anyone that is a woodworker in your life, even if they don’t whittle - this is a great way to expand their skill set. The kit has nearly everything that you need, at a very beginner level. I don’t know much about knives, but I can tell these aren’t the highest quality, that being said - they are totally good enough to finish the projects included in the set and allow the user to determine if they want to continue their whittling journey.I was pretty happy with everything you get for $40. If you catch this one sale for less, definitely grab it.I hope this review is helpful.

Great Whittling set
I've never done any whittling before. I got this set to explore the hobby and I must say, for a beginner and IMO someone doing this for a while, this is a very nice set. The knives are all sharp, well contoured and just feel quality. The bits of sand paper, the blocks of wood to get started, the gloves, even the band aids are all a nice touch and make it a perfect gift set.So far, I've only made the spoon. It's not perfect, and I'm not finished, but I'm pretty proud of it lol. I wore the gloves, which I would highly recommend. I didn't have to use the band aids, but there were definitely a few times where I would've nicked a finger if not for the gloves. All in all, at $40 I don't think you could do any better. This would make a perfect gift, I know I would have loved to get it as one.

Beautiful gift!
I gave this to my husband because he kept talking about how he used to whittle as a kid and bemoaning the fact that he has no real hobbies. SURPRISE! He really liked it and appreciated that it contains everything he could ever need for the type of woodworking he used to do. “If I had this when I was a kid…” was my favorite comment. Since then he’s put it aside and I’ve started playing with it! How often has this happened, lol! I’m really enjoying myself and while I’m not any good at it, the process is quite soothing. I really appreciate the protective gloves. Very thoughtful addition.

Great for Beginners
I have never whittled before this. I've always wanted to, and I've always thought that whittling seemed like such an amazing skill and hobby. It took me about 3-4 days to make the spoon. I discovered that whittling uses a lot of muscles your hands that don't usually get constant and intense use, so I had to stop periodically to stretch my hands. This was so satisfying, and I'm already trying to think of what I want to make from the 2nd block of wood that is included. The instructions are pretty straightforward, though if you're more of a visual learner than a trial and error person you might want to also follow along with a tutorial on YouTube, just to get the hang of the motions that are best for each knife, especially the hook knife for rounding out the bowl of the spoon.
