Isadora Moon Goes to School

Very cute book. After reading the Mercy Watson series and then the Princess in Black series, both of which my 4 (almost 5) year old granddaughter adored (carries them with her wherever she goes and soon had them memorized so “reads” them to herself now), I had trouble finding other age-appropriate chapter books that still have pictures to hold her interest (she enjoys picture books still, but prefers chapter books, when we can find). I tried Zoey and Sassafras science-themed series, which are cute and great for those a bit older than she is, but though they interest her, she wasn’t totally enthralled (possibly due to few and b&w pictures). We then gave the Isadora Moon series a try. These are great, not scary, quite fun, no questionable topics (such as death), no sassy children, no language that needs to be filtered (hate, stupid, etc.) and they hold her attention! Should she soon carry these around with her (though lack of glossy pages with colored pictures may keep these from being a top contender), I’ll consider it a real win!Update: they made the cut. She loves them! She keeps asking for more. I’ve needed to order the next two and we are anxiously awaiting their arrival.

My 7-year old loves this series. I have not read the book myself, but I skimmed it and read the synopsis, it seems like a cute story. It can sometimes be difficult to get my daughter to sit and read, but when she got this book it was a different story. She loves magical/mythical/supernatural type stuff (Monster High is one of her favorites), and this book delivered for her.She finished it in one day and begged for the next one. She really enjoys the pictures throughout the book as well, the artwork is pretty adorable.This is one of her new favorite series!

My 6 year old daughter just started enjoying chapter books. I’ve been reading her one chapter each night before bed. She absolutely LOVES this series!! Highly recommend it!!

Isadora Moon is half-fairy, half-vampire and now it is time to go to school. She has to decide which school she wants to attend. She tries both fairy school and vampire school but neither is a good fit. So she is in a dilemma. Where does she go to school?I enjoyed Isadora. I especially liked her sidekick, Pink Rabbit. Isadora knows who she is and when she meets the human kids going home from their school she realizes that she is like all of them--different. She realizes different isn't bad. It's just different but that makes the world interesting.

My 6 year old absolutely adores Isadora! She reads these books over 4 day stretches, and it is amazing to watch her reading abilities soar. The story is cute and relatable for young readers.

These are the books I wish I had thought of to write and illustrate. My daughter (5) loves them. Also available on Audible, so she drifts off to sleep listening to them. The language is age-appropriate without being dumbed-down.
