Exactly what I was hoping for
So far so good!! I love that it comes with the extension piece. Easy to put together, and mostly easy to install - there's a bit of trial and error to figure out the best positioning of everything. I would say the first install took nearly an hour to get exactly as I wanted it, and every install since then is 15min or less doing it all solo. For the price I'm happy that it came with so many accessories to get you on the road. That being said, they are not bad at all, yet things like ratchet straps I may recommend going a little more heavy duty for any long hauls.I haven't used the travel bag yet (most of my cargo boxes are already weatherproof) but I haven't noticed any of the damages listed by other reviewers. The drawbacks I noticed are likely pretty standard when going from nothing to a loaded roof rack, but there is definitely a noticeable amount of wind noise and drag. Gas mileage dips a bit as does coasting speed on a hill. I have a hill on my way home that without having my foot on the gas would take my car from 55 to 70+ and with the rack on seems to lock in around 63 and stay there. Because of the install ease and the gas, I take mine on and off as needed without much fuss.Couple of stickers and my gear and this thing looks like I've been using it forever!!

Saved our beach trip
Every year my Honda Pilot is filled to the brim with all the crap we haul to the beach. My husband and I have talked for several years about getting a cargo basket for the back of the car. My kids aren't getting any smaller, so this year we decided to go for it. My husband assembled it and based on the short time it took him to put it together and lack of swear words he uttered under his breath in the process, I would say it went together pretty easily. The shaft fit perfectly in our standard 2-inch trailer hitch. It stayed put during our entire 10-hour round trip. Did not wobble and I did not worry about it or the contents that were strapped to it falling off. When not in use, I was able to fold it up and down with just a little muscle. I will say, when folding it up and down, you have to wiggle the basket a little to get the pin to go back in place. Other than that, it was great and I would definitely recommend to anyone needing a little extra cargo rom.

Great for holding fabric items!
Needed something to hold my clothes for a cross country trip to save space inside the car. This was pretty self explanatory to set up. With all the straps provided it felt very secure on top of my car the whole way. Holds a decent amount of stuff! Rack is sturdy enough and the bag is a thick waterproof tarp-like material. I only used it for clothes and fabric items, I can see the possibility of the bag ripping if denser items with sharp corners were put inside, but it was very good for the purpose of holding my clothes.

19x53 WEIZE Hitch Cargo Carrier… assembly ideas included
ASSEMBLY TIP: this is for the carrier stated in the title of my review… it will make more sense when you have it in front of you.If you affix the sides of the carrier to the hitch tube, you will absolutely not be able to install the top braces between the racks as the holes WILL NOT line up. The way I’m describing it is how you should consider assembling it. Hope it helps. The carrier itself is made up of various bolts, washers, and nuts as well as 3 main pieces and two braces. Before you attach both sides of the carrier to the hitch tube, connect the two sides together by attaching the braces in the appropriate place across the front and rear top between the two rack sides and hand tighten nuts. Now you can lift the rack and set it over the hitch tube and install mounting hardware. Tighten the 4 bolts at the hitch tube completely, then finish tightening the front and rear top braces mentioned earlier. Hope this helps. The WEIZE Hitch 19x53” Cargo Carrier is actually a well built little carrier. The one I chose has the 2” rise from hitch level. I honestly can’t find anything wrong with it. It’s heavy material and solid once assembled. The bag is heavy and well made. It’s a pliable, super thick plastic with a zipper top, but it has flaps that hang down 2” past the zipper. It would be next to impossible for water to actually enter the bag during normal use without having to physically submerse it. There’s no possible way water is going to accidentally splash up and get in. I’d buy it again in a heartbeat if I needed to.Troy/56/TX

Great Carrier with lots of extras!
Very impressed with this product! The carrier is sturdy, easily will handle the 500 lbs it claims to hold, nicely built and finished and easy to assemble. The other products that came with it are equally outstanding. The carry bag is strong, durable, and waterproof, it came with a cargo net. straps, tie downs, and even included a lock to lock it to your hitch to prevent theft. The design includes its ability to fold up when not loaded. This is a great value!!!

Exactly as expected
Package arrived and all items depicted in the primary product photo were present. Build quality was good, and assembly straight-forward. All the metal parts are painted/coated thoroughly and were in good shape. The cargo bag is a heavy-duty, rubber-coated canvas (a bit like a river raft). From a water-proofing standpoint, this is a plus, but it does make the bag a bit unwieldy when trying to wrangle items into it, or even to zip/unzip it. I would imagine it would not be convenient if you need to access items within the bag repeatedly or often, but shouldn't be much of an issue to deal with for only a couple times per trip.I purchased this cargo carrier set primarily because it was foldable and included the waterproof bag, but was pleased that it also had a locking hitch pin and other cargo accessories like the elastic netting and ratchet straps.I'm very pleased with this purchase so far, but because I haven't had it on the road yet, it remains to be seen if there is noise or rattling from the carrier once it is installed and driven on the highway.
