When I ordered these brushes I had high expectations for what they would have looked like and how they would be based on reviews I’d seen. When I got them I was a little bit disappointed at the quality of them. Specifically how the hairs were shaped in the brushes. The hairs weren’t as full as how they looked in the reviews and didn’t act how they acted in the reviews. Nevertheless they were very soft as they had been reviewed and hold a generous amount of water much better than my synthetic brushes. I’m not sure if it was the seller or just the brushes themselves but I would probably buy them again because of how much softer they are than my other brushes.

I really enjoy the Silver Black Velvet line, as a professional artist, who paints constantly with water color, and also teaches watercolor painting. The brush hold up well to being loaded with water, paint and being used on paper. It is neither too stiff nor too soft, so one can manage the direction one wants to paint. The rounds make a range of marks, when loaded with more or less water. I have all the other larger sizes in this range and wanted some smaller one to add to my collection. I have seen many well known watercolorists use this line and I also recommend them to my students, for their versatility and affordability.
