Does it have masonry setting?

The MMH800 is designed for use in woodworking, water damage restoration, building construction and home renovation. Examples include: • Checking for moisture on or below the surface of carpets • Measuring the surface moisture and/or moisture content of wood, drywall or concrete before painting, wallpapering, sealing or treating.

What's the probe length? Are they insulated or replaceable?

As far as i can tell the probes are about 3/8 long. The are metal, and have a plastic cover to protect them and you when not in use. The cap can also be flipped over once taken off, to help check device itself, for calibration. They are replaceable. They actually come with an extra set of pins (probes). Hope this helps.

Will this work for firewood?

you are going to get a reading to the depth of the prongs about a third of an inch.
