Lugzmens Convoy Classic 6-inch Chukka Boot

Not like old Lugs. Fell apart in 6 months.
My previous pair of Lugz lasted 5-6 years so i thought id get another pair. Mistake. First thing i noticed was the material started cracking and peeling after just a few weeks. Annoying, but the shiny plasticy material below seemed to be holding together, so oh well. I can deal with that. Fast forward 6 months and the bottom of my boot comes apart! Like wearing a giant, heavy flip flop! Check the picture out to see my nee flip flop. You can see where the material fell off where creased on my other boot as well. Gotta start my search for a new, quality boot over again. Oh, and I only wear boots in my free time. So I can only imagine how quick they'd fall apart for someone working in them as well.

Vegan delight? time will tell. But they do look like a football
So this is my initial impression. I just got them today. Being a vegan, its hard to find boots that are reasonably fashionable . Price isn't an issue but availability is. Your just not going to find a lot of non leather products out there and if you do, its going to be something like these. Lugz??? Lugz??? I think they were popular 25 years ago when I was in high school. buying these, I took a big risk with no expectations on final product.Well the design is classic. looks good actually. the tread is moderate (don't know how they will do on wet surfaces) The seams and stitching really looks good too. I mean for a "fake" boot, they are crafted well. I wear a size 10-10.5 . I bought these at 10.5 and with an insole and regular socks, they fit a little loose. I didn't crank down on tightening them however. Even so, I'm not getting much heel lift when I step. The shoelace eyelets are good quality and I suspect they will probably fall out over time but maybe not. The toe box is one solid piece, so I imagine they have to be somewhat decent with keeping water out. I cant really say but it looks like the sole is vulcanized onto the boot itself (not stitched on). That would be another plus toward water repellency . The tongue is only stitched in about 1-1/4" up, so that may let water in. the padded section that cushions the ankle (collar) is soft and supple. It may crack over time but it doesn't feel like it will. My hope is that synthetic materials have come along way and so it's not like buying a non leather boot from Kmart from the 80's.The texture looks like the stuff they make fake leather footballs out of. From the pictures, I assumed that's what it was going to be. It isn't bad but it has a little tinge of lighter brown color to them. Its not a dark brown but it is; I don't know how to explain that. ( I ordered the dark brown/ tan color)Normally I wouldn't go into trying to give an in depth review on a pair of $50 boots but if you are like me and looking to purchase items cruelty free, There hasn't been a mainstream movement by brands to make products like this. Its almost like these brands are slipping in the back door and by trying to make a cheaper cost boot, might be providing a product in an untapped market. If I remember, I'll come back and update my experience with these. I'm leaving on a 5 day New York trip, so I'll be getting some miles in on them.

Extremely bad work boot purchase
Basically I purchased these in March and there already coming apart from the sole of the boot. The lugz company has some explaining to do.

I'm not a lugz fan but...
So i'm a tid bit old school and when it comes to non work boots I have always went with Tim's and pretty much thats it. I've known about lugz but their always have weird clunky stuff. So when i was going to buy a new pair of tims, And to my surprise they only had newer styles which either look like shoes (at which point you might as well buy shoes) or they were some weird funky colors, from plastic orange to some ugly burgundy color. I couldn't find a classic pair and color of tims anywhere. then i happened to come across these bad boi's, They were not tim's but had the appearance of the old school Tim's except with a bit of jean fabric on the top. Which honestly still looked decent and they were way cheaper. And honestly i didn't know lugz made a decent pair of boots like these and i might just buy another pair when these are done. However the water proofing i applied to them didn't really do much to help them. They still get wet, The only real downside is that after awhile if you don't keep them filled with a toe and leg guard and such the heel part begins to break as with alot of shoes even and you start getting poked in the heel with the sharp material. Creases also find their way in fast if you don't use the guards. Bt for the most part my pants go over them anyway. And after i messed with it a bit and let them rest the heel part stopped poking me and i haven't had another issue since. I'd definitely buy them if they are still under 100$

Nice boot
I really like lugz they are true to size and my son says they are so comfortable these are his second pair. I will say the last pair I bought him only held up for a year but my son is rough on everything and wore them daily just about I wasn’t to bummed because he already grew out of them. Tims definitely hold up better but especially for a kid who going to grow out of them quickly I like lugz better for the price and they have better looking boots/shoes I think!

short life
I bought these to last me a year.. And they lasted 3 months before the glue holding the sole in place came apart. There was still plenty of thread left.Only buy this for short fix. It wont last long.

Nice color and truly fits!
I really needed some shoes and wanted boots and I saw these! I love the color and they fit perfectly. Maybe it’s just me or it’s the style of the boot but longer laces would be nice. This is easy to fix though so no problem! Overall these boots are nice! 👌

WORST BOOTS EVER
It's a very very very very very very bad purchase. This pair of shoes is not comfortable at all. In addition, as you can see on the picture after one month of use, I had the pleasure to notice that the heel was detached. I wonder how AMAZON can have this kind of article in their catalogue.

although I found that I couldn't walk as I naturally do in order for the shoes to be comfortable. They treated me well for a few
On the first day, the boots were a little bit narrow and rigid, and all-around uncomfortable. After a couple of days, they softened up and were more pleasant to wear, although I found that I couldn't walk as I naturally do in order for the shoes to be comfortable. They treated me well for a few months, but recently, the outer soles have partially peeled off of the boot: one at the front, and the other at the back. I've had these for less than 5 months. In terms of being waterproof and warm, they did the job quite well. But that's pointless if these "built to last" boots are clearly not well made.Hopefully I just got a poorly made pair and that it doesn't reflect the true quality of the boots, but as of now, these are not long-lasting boots to say the least.

Good boots!
I'm happy with these. Bought them for my teenaged son who refused to wear winter boots and was walking around in running shoes with snow up to his ankles. Besides being told several times that these are "fake timbo's", he likes them! I sprayed them with protector so they'd make it through Canadian winter. So far, so good!
