All 150W Basking Bulbs are at risk of inexplicable failure, there is no better brand
People write bad reviews after having bad experiences early on in their reptile-keeping with bulbs having a short turn around. This happens to most people, and then after a year or two, they realize they haven't changed a bulb in over 6 months. As you settle down fiddling with the terrarium, as you learn to be extra careful near the light fixtures, as you learn that you do not even try touching or moving or fiddling with the fixture until the bulb has been off for an hour, as the daily routine and temperature fluctuations becomes set in stone your bulbs will last longer. Incandescent bulbs work by pushing too much electricity through too fine a metal wire filament which the metal wire does not like and is thus forced to emit light and heat to keep the energy moving through the circuit, this warms and brightens the enclosure. Most household incandescent bulbs used to be between 10W and 100W; this product is 150W, that's pushing a whole lot more electricity through basically the same filament -- it's an inherently unstable system which is why no one used them for lighting. They are incredibly sensitive to changes in temperature and placement: wiggle it too much and the filament stretches and pulls itself apart, examine the bulb too soon after turning it off and the wire will break off (this happened to me today), accidentally drop a single drop of water onto a lit bulb and it will catastrophically explode (trust me) I do not believe there is any non-anecdotal evidence for one brand's bulbs being more stable or reliable than another's. When you're buying these bulbs you are making a decision based on weighing your faith in a slightly more expensive established brand or a cheap outsider product. ZooMed is reliable in most other products so I trust them with my bulbs.

Much cheaper than the pet shop
Lights all came working and as expected and are much cheaper than buying from the pet shop, first bulb lasted 2 months and that was with me moving it a lot while I was dialing in the basking spot for my Savannah monitor

Defective lamps
I always order new lamps as soon as I use my last one because I never know how long they will last before they blow. I usually have good luck with these lamps. I ordered this 4 pack over 30 days ago and am now past the return window. My lamp blew this morning, so I finally open the new lamps. I have tried 3 out of the 4 lamps so far. They are all dim and not producing heat. I've tested the fixture which seems to be working fine.

Do not buy
I don't know what is wrong with this brand but out of 12 bulbs only 3 lasted long. These have died within weeks some days and the last one blew out and exploded soon as I flipped the switch. These are not cheap. After speaking with reptile experts they experienced the same. They are dangerous. Went to a thermal heater instead. And yes I was using a proper fixture.

Lizard lights
These lights are great, one came broken but they sent a replacement.

Splash resistant
These bulbs heat up really well and last a long time. They also hold up against the constant splashing from my filters. The 4 pack is way to go, they will last years.

They break frequently.
These heat bulbs are fairly decent until they break. At least 1 1/2 bulbs do not last 3 months. Current purchase I lost a bulb within a week and since the bulb cracked along the line where it meets the metal I have to figure out how to remove it from the heat lamp I am using. Just beware if you decide on getting a 4 pack, might get lucky or might not. I still believe basking bulbs are better then regular bulbs for a better heating situation for reptiles who need a higher heat.

Great deal
These types of bulbs are either really great or defective. They'll either last a good while or burn out within days of being changed and they're pretty expensive to be buying back to back. This 4 pack is so great to have on hand and tucked away in case it's needed! You can't beat the price either. The price of 4 here us about the price of 2 in stores.

I bought the Zoo Med 4-Pack of 150W Reptile Basking Spot Lamps, and they’ve been fantastic so far. The quality is great, they provide strong heat and light, and my bearded dragon loves basking under them. For the price, it’s an excellent deal, especially since I go through bulbs regularly. They heat up quickly and maintain a steady temperature in the enclosure. Conclusion: If you need reliable and affordable basking spot lamps for your reptile, this 4-pack from Zoo Med is a great choice. Highly recommend!

Got this set of four bulbs for a really good price. Set it up yesterday and the temps reading 109°F. Which is perfect for my bearded dragon. Thank you!

2 out of 4 lights were damaged - literal waste of money to purchase

These are the best bulbs for my lizard. They last the longest and seem consistent in temperature.

The life expectancy of 2000 hours appears to be exaggerated. I am averaging 1200 hours. Perhaps turning the lamp on and off each day wears them out sooner.
