Proper Length for Tall
If you're like maybe 6 feet tall or taller, this is the one for you. It's the proper length. All the other ones are made for tiny, short, normal-height people.

Works well
I really like the length for removing my socks since I can't bend one of my legs very far. The side of the working end for pushing off your socks works well, but I had to bend the other side that you use get the sock the rest of the way off. Instead of sticking out at a right angle it now has more of a hook to it. Much better! The only improvement I would suggest would be a rubberized coating on the working end instead of the smooth coating it has to make it a little more grippy.

This is so convenient.
Bought this to help with dressing due to my disability. Use it with shoes, pants, etc... but it is also effective at helping retrieve things I drop. Increasing my independence.

UPDATE: I give up trying to keep this stick working. The wood is so cheap it cracks at the end and the screw spins in place
I have just lowered my rating to 2 stars because this stick has become useless yet again. The wood stick must be made from some cheap wood because the hook easily cracks the end of the stick, the screw hole becomes stripped and then the hook only spins in place. My main use was to put on my slippers. My cloth slippers are a size larger than my feet so I can easily slide my foot inside but the rear of the slipper must be turned over to completely put the slippers on. When using the hook end to get the heal of my foot into the slippers, there is some stress on the hook especially when I turn the heal end of the slipper up over my foot. I believe am using this stick as advertised but within a couple of months, the hook end cracks, strips the wood and spins in place. Twice I have stuffed wooden toothpicks into the stripped hole and filled it with super glue then twisted the hook back in when the glue dries. I use gorilla tape around the end of the stick to keep the crack from opening. But that only works a short time and usually the wooden dowel finally splits at the end so badly that the stick is rendered unusable. I believe spending $20 on this stick is too much money for the quality of the product. I wish I could find an alternate, stronger stick with the extra length. I am 6' 2" with neuropathy and arthritis and need a longer stick.PREVIOUS REVIEW: Generally speaking, this dressing stick is very versatile and useful. I have difficulty bending so I use the tool to put on pants and shorts by pulling them up high enough on my leg so I can grab the waist band and pull them up completely using my hands. I like that this brand is a bit longer than others making it easing to reach further. I would not be able to put on my shoes or slippers without this stick. I can grab the slipper, slide my foot inside then use the hook end to pull the back of the slipper over my heal. That is even difficult to do with the use of the stick. Pulling the back of the slipper over the heal is stressful on the hook end and the only down side to this stick is that the metal hook will bend but can be easily bent back into shape. Using the tool tends to make the metal part spin and loosen. Eventually, after retightening by hand a number of times, either the wooden threads inside the hole become stripped or the wood at the end cracks. More than once I have had to fix the end by inserting some toothpicks into the end filling the hole and dropping some super glue inside. After allowing some time for the glue to dry (I usually wait overnight), then can screw the metal hook back into the hole. I also use small strips of duct tape around the end to prevent any cracks in the wood from opening. Even with these limitations and problems, I would recommend this dressing stick to anyone.

Very versatile and easy to use
Best gizmo ever. I had back surgery and can't bend over so I kept dropping my pants and then had to have help getting them back on. This thing picks them up, pulls them on my legs and then pulls my pants up. It's great to be able to do it myself!

Stick may not be straight, since it’s unfinished wood.
It’ll work.

Needs C hook
I have had several dressing sticks over the ears, and all had a c hook (cup hook) that made them so much more useful than this one is. Not made very well either. Heck, next time I'll just buy a dowel and the hooks and do it myself.

Very handy for many purposes.
As a quadriplegic this dressing stick comes in very handy. I don't use it for dressing but I use it for reaching things on the floor or reaching things on the back of the counter or up in a cupboard. We are good for just all-around reachers. I wish they made one another foot longer.
