I think this is a really fun starter kit. It has everything you need. The projects are cute (I tend to go off script a bit, but I'm happy with what I made). The instructions were pretty good, especially with the link to a YouTube video of it being made, but I wish there was actual verbal instructions about what they were doing and tips for success. Even without that it's pretty easy to get the feel for it and figure it out as you go. I wish there were one more needle handle. There's 3 sizes and two handles, and I don't like having to switch all the time, so I've gone to only using the biggest for shaping and connecting parts, and smallest for smoothing and details. The other thing that I wish was a bit better is the eyes. They're all meant to be the same size, but aren't very consistent, and not quite as big as they should be to look as cute as the pictures. I also wish they included some liquid glue you could inject into the felt to glue the whiskers in. The eyes could use some glue too if you actually want to play with them, but any would probably do as the eye would cover the glue drop. The whiskers wouldn't and they slide in and out very easily with basic handling, so I'm not sure if they're worth putting in until I find a solution. Still, a super fun kit. Would make a great gift. I love that they include finger protectors. Good amount of wool and projects for the price. I am quite happy with it overall, and now I'm hooked on felting! 🙂 Edit: after comparing to other kits, other wool, other eyes, I'm more impressed with this kit. No, it didn't fulfill all my dreams, but it's a great deal, and probably the best you're going to find. I would recommend you get this one

Great kit for multiple animal reactions. Directions are simple to understand and you have the liberty to create and make look like your pet. I really like the felt pillow in this kit. I was able to create the small details and legs or ears on this pad in order to attach them to the pet body. Comes with plenty of needles and two wooden holders to help with holding. Good variety of colors. Each wool color comes in a small zip top bag for storage. Enough materials for a group of 6 ladies who have never felted to make animal-inspired pieces. Level of experience helps but beginners are able to create. In our group 3 have never felted and not artistic but enjoyed creating, while the other 3 ladies have felted experience and craftsmanship was seen individually in the group shot. We all created based off of photos of our pets. Still lots of materials left and looking forward to making more. Excellent kit for a beginner and a group activity. The heads only took 1.5 hours and the full body animals took about 3 hours to complete. Everyone was happy with their creation.

Very cute. Easy to follow instructions. Wool seems decent, nice and soft. Seems durable for Wool. Doesn't smell the best but you often can tell if its real by the smell. You get alot for what you pay. Definitely well worth it.

This is really two kits in one, and can be separated into one kit for the cats, and one for the dogs. I gave the cat kit to someone else, and only did the dogs myself. It was a fun kit, appropriate for a beginner, which I am. The shapes are all basically the same, so after doing one, you can go off script if you want; for example, I chose to do a Dalmatian with the black and white wool rather than a Frenchie. The instructions are not great, but adequate to get the job done. The only thing I would improve would be to include extra wool (especially the white) - once the core pieces are done, it’s nice to be able to add a bit more to smooth out the surface, and I wasn’t able to do that with each dog. But I like to felt the wool densely, so that might not happen for everyone. Other than that, it was a fun kit and a good value.

This kit arrived quickly. I'm just starting to learn needle felting. Everything in the kit worked well .I felted a dog using the instructions from the little booklet that came with the kit. This the instructions were helpful though the print was a little small. I had bought felting needles from a local yarn shop. They broke very quickly. I was able to get through this whole project without breaking any of the from this kit. I appreciated the different sizes. With clear instructions about which to use on details and which to use on the core felting. There was a wide variety of color in the wools that came. The cream colored wool had the largest amount of wool and I used it for the core of my prodject. I'm happy as a first time felter with the content of this kit. I used the flower template that came in the kit to embellish my little dog.

I got this for my 10-year old son who loves cats and the final product is adorable. Unfortunately, the instructions are terrible. They seem to be missing the FIRST step of how to divide the wool up into what you need at first and for later sections, we were lucky and had some extra wool of the same color so we had enough for the ears. All instructions start with “after doing X” but how to do X is never mentioned, leaving the reader ultimately lost. I bought it mainly for the needle set and the inspiration, but don’t expect as a beginner to get enough guidance just from this kit.

Perfect for beginners, or someone who just wants to expand their tools & roving stash. I have some experience felting and this came with so many more items to add to my craft stash, very pleased with the value and curated collection or items! I make my kids waldorf toys and playmats and this was perfect for that.

I am really enjoying making these little characters. I have made three of the dogs so far and they turned out great. Hoping to get the others made soon. All the roving wool is in two packs one for the dogs and one for the cats just make sure you keep enough for each dog or cat. If you watch the video tutorial on Youtube and watch how much she wraps in her hand when she rolls it to make an oval body you should have enough. The code is on the printed instruction sheet use your mobile phone code scanner to take you to the tutorial. I recommend this kit.
