M.2 SATA only but great for older systems
I bought a couple of these for older PATA applications and have used one in my Apple Mac mini G4 (which is otherwise a really hard system to fit modern drives in!) in place of its aging and terribly slow 2.5” mechanical HDD to great success combined with a Western Digital Green M.2 SATA SSD. It’s quieter, faster and set to last another 18 years hopefully! Great idea for the retro and vintage market and ideal for older laptops and desktops with confined hard drive access. Ideally would prefer a NVMe / SATA option (they may be available at higher prices) but this definitely does the job. The limitations of SATA are pretty irrelevant when PATA busses aren’t even as fast as the slowest SATA standards! Note: for standard full-size desktop applications you will need a 44-pin laptop to 40-pin + 4-pin Molex adapter to connect it which is not included.

Retro-Computing PUR: fast 20 Jahre altes Laptop Toshiba-Satellite mit 128 GByte SSD aufgerüstet (just for Fun). Dieses Gehäuse: mSATA mini PCI-E SATA SSD to 2.5 inch IDE 44pin. Hier passt die MSATA III Interne Solid State Drive 128GB SSD. Alles zusammen passt völlig problemlos in den Einbaurahmen des Laptop der vorher die 2,5 Zoll HDD getragen hat.Etwas fummelig waren die Mini-Schräubchen mit der die Platine im Gehäuse befestig ist. Kleiner Kreuzschlitz und ne ruhige Hand waren von Vorteil. Recovery-Disk (Windows XP, die guten alten Zeiten) Betriebssystem wieder installiert und der Rechner läuft völlig leise und für seine Verhältnisse wie der Blitz. Das einzige Geräusch kommt jetzt vom CPU Lüfter. Die Zusendung war wie angekündigt; Verpackung intakt;
