Would I be able to place their capped gel refills into the retractable bodies and it fit fine? Are they the same size?

I don’t believe that you can just pull out the ink portion of this pen. It’s one piece.

If I were to store the pen with the ball on the tip(assuming it will come with the pen) how long do you think the pen will last?

The ones I've purchased have always come with the tip and I'm still opening some now and my last order was 6 months ago. I wouldn't wait much longer than this. I usually get a good year out of them provided I haven't lost them ;)

Are they actually .05mm tips? Very small fine tip? And do they write smoothly?

I'm not sure .05mm tips even exist. A standard bic ball point is about 1mm, so these are finer than that, but .05mm would be ... Just too small. I find that they write well and do not bleed at all.
