Yes and no ... there are three settings: 1) always on 2) always off and 3) on only when the trigger is pulled (plus ~10s delay turning off when trigger released).

Is this hammer drill compatible with the DCB201 battery?

Thank you for your question. It is compatible with the DCB201 battery. All DeWalt 20 volt Max batteries and chargers are interchangable with all DeWalt 20 volt max tools. We would suggest if you will be doing a longer project, you may want to consider upgrading to a 3 (DCB203) 4 (DCB204) or 5 (DCB205) AH for less charging time in-between work but the 201 has worked great for the small-medium projects I've done. It also charges fairly quickly (about 30-45 minutes in DCB107). Another added benefit of the DCB201 is that it's a lighter weight battery which doesn't add as much weight to the drill.
