FIP treatment must-have
My cat, Hogan, was diagnosed blind with neurological FIP at the same time I had a long overdue surgery and got a very restrictive cast on my left hand which left me in the permanent position of wishing everyone longevity and prosperity in the manner of the Vulcans, but unable to give a cat shots, pills, or even liquid meds after he began feeling better.People were coming to assist several times each day. With 84 days in the program, it seemed endless. Hogan's feelings were very clear: his vision was getting better, and we could leave now.I ordered this bag after reading many reviews of many bags, which was both amusing and disheartening in turn. His anti seizure medication and pain medication both help him to be somewhat tractable. So the bag was introduced after those.I use the squeezy treats on jar lids as immediate rewards. He has never been interested in such things because he is weird, but luckily the steroid part of his treatment boosted his appetite, and he likes to lick this stuff. It's important for rewards to be all around the bag, not just after. So, under like a blanket. Head through the hole. Lick the reward goo. Can I have this foot through a hole? Yay. Reward goo. Look, can I have another foot? You see how it's going. He seems to feel that the suit is beneath his dignity. But if there's fishy goo, he'll sit there. I am now going to sort of lift him up to sweep the rest under him to zip the side from underneath his left arm.For you, this will be a little hard. Zippers require tension. Hogan wasn't trying to get away due to the fishy goo, but I only had one hand and the back end was wide open and full of cat. Being stubborn and independent, I used my teeth. I don't have a regular dentist right now, so feel only a nonspecific apology is required. People who have 2 hands: zip the side. The second part of the zipper is a little harder as it involves the moving tail, and the legs which are upright in the middle where you want to bring the teeth together. Hogan oddly decided at that time to fall over on one side, and without dignity or grace, I got it closed.I didn't have the hand strength to use the little handles. But I carried him with the shoulder strap and he liked it. Or was sufficiently amazed at flight that he relaxed. I was able to put him over my shoulder on my back ...papoose style...and ready the house for the friend coming to give him his shot. The shot Giving hatch is not huge but works well.He was given fishy goo before. During the shot, there is a stick of white cheddar cheese which is the licking cheese, and it becomes the biting cheese if there's any rage associated with the sting from the injection. Rage eating cheese is a thing, and if a cat suddenly has the fury of a supernova, gnashing the bar of cheese to crumbs and eating a few of them seems to diffuse it quickly. So I end up throwing a lot of cheese crumbs to squirrels. It's worth it.He gets more fishy goo, and then because of the bag, he gets the very special treat of being carried Outside, to look at trees or birds or something, I really can't tell, but it is a sensory pleasure for him without risk. Cats are more treat motivated in training than dogs or horses, but other types of positive reinforcement are important if you can think of them.He also has to take pills several times a day. Initially I could give him liquid because he was almost comatose, but he definitely is not now. After a series of trials, we use a Bullseye Pill gun, and a thin layer of pill pocket to prevent The Foaming. Hogan's skill set includes ability to cheek a pill while eating his reward, and then spit it out multiple times, slinging foam and pills across the room to adhere to the bed steps, and swallowing 2 out of 3 pills, reserving the most problematic dissolving pill for the last. The gun method has solved most of this, with the bag, quick rewards right in his face, and a syringe of unflavored electrolyte drink handy for wetting his mouth...which he will settle down and drink, about 10cc at a time. For those people who just want to trim their cats' nails, you might not need all this. Massaging their feet for no reason between the toes all the time can soften them up.It is important to tighten up neck velcro once the cat is in, and don't forget to loosen and pet and reward before releasing. After I let him back out of the bag, I give him another treat reward. I don't want him falling off the bed or running off wildly. Just like putting a horse in a pasture, it should be a relaxed parting. You can spray the bag with catnip oil and or the feliway spray which has positive pheromones. Leave it lying around. One of the Kitten Brothers got curious enough that I put him in it for about 40 seconds and then let him out. (2 adult pandemic fosters who did not get adopted elsewhere, Hogan's minions)I wish that the shoulder strap had more traction because it slips, and I like to keep Hogan's head a little higher so his cranial pressure isn't too elevated.I wish that the Zippers "locked" like the ones on jeans do so you could open them up a little without them unzipping completely.Honestly the best bag you can find, and will be helpful at the vet.Doesn't replace the hardside carrier for transportation, however, because in the event of a wreck, it won't protect him at all.Our friend Joe calls it his spacesuit.Hogan is easy to dress now.My cast is off. My hand is still weak at this time, Hogan is still in treatment but we're hopeful for a full recovery.Whatever it is you are doing that causes you to read these reviews, I hope these usage tips help.

Works but the zippers stick
This works for both my cats, in that once I manage to get them in, zip up the main compartment and tighten the neck Velcro, they stay put and I can trim their nails. However one of the front arm hole zippers stuck the first time I used it and I can’t close it, which isn’t a big deal but keeps me from assigning a 5-star rating.

One must remember that if a cat is determined to escape, their bodies are very flexible,
I like the construction. It is sturdy and safe, and the inside is soft. It's easy to get the cat into it. Most cats like to climb into bags and things and so when you unzip it, your cat will most likely walk right in and then you can zip it up and they'll poke their head out and then you can secure their neck. But if your cat is not liking, whatever it is, you're doing, this does allow them to still move around. It doesn't keep them snug. I maybe should've got a small for my regular size cat. But even then it probably will not keep the cat snug like a little taco so he can't move.......LOL...... I was looking at this and got it to make cleaning my cats ears easier. The study material does keep you from getting all torn up by your cats nails. But beware, if your cat is determined, he will get his little paw up through the neck hole like mine tried to do. LOLI would recommend this product. THUMBS UPBut like I said, if your cat is not liking what you're doing, he's going to move around .... he's going to try to get his paw through the neck hole.... he's gonna try to pull his head back inside through the hole. LOLOL.. so I do recommend that you secure his neck, quite snuggly, without choking. Speaking to your cat calmly can help and stroking his head can help him endure something that he is hating. My kitty, who did not like getting his ears cleaned still later came up to me and wanted to be petted and got on the bed like always. He's not holding it against me because he's a very sweet people type kitty.

Big cat in a bag
It takes some maneuvering to get my 16+ pound cat into bag. There was still room so if bigger kitty they would fit. Found it is easier to have him sit and pull over like a sweater. Tighten the neck and then zip up the back/end part. It does have zippers all over to get to different feet and body parts. With the neck collar, it does help stop his head from moving around, aka not as easy to bite. I did try hanging up, which can be done - it’s well made. It is soft material too. I do think this will work better for shots and pills than for trimming feet on fast moving bitty cat. Side note: found Costco chicken bribe for toe trimming was easier.

This save my time to get my cats stay for nail cut
I'm new to have kitten and I just can't get them stay to trim nails even using treats. Also I don't always want to trim their nails with two people help. I need to find a solution to do so by my own! This product is the answer!! My kitten acted sad when we did this 1st time, but they are okay from 2nd time. Now they are used to it and knowing it won't harm. I can get 4 lags nail trimmed quickly at one time with this product. Be sure to use nice and calm voice talking to them. I also hold them like holding a baby to keep them feel safe.

Highly recommended for home fluid treatments for kidney failure
Our 7 year old, barely 4 lbs kitty was diagnosed with kidney failure. Our vet generously provided free fluid injections to extend her life (we just buy the fluid bag, lines and needles) but she started to become very stressed and fought with the techs. The last several treatment sessions were not successful. The vet refused to do further treatments and had trained us how to do them at home. This bag performs a vital role: securing the neck hole around her neck with the velcro strap essentially makes her become passive (the same way a kitten shuts down when scruffed by the neck) and calms her. Enclosing her paws and legs keeps the fighting minimal. We've given many fluid treatments successfully at home using this bag. The canvas is very thick and sturdy. The only quibble is that the inside lining often gets snagged by the zipper (the same way that some coats have the zipper get stuck.) But overall this has been a Godsend to allow us to extend our cat's life because it calms our kitty and keeps her from moving too much during injections.
