I am absolutely blown away by this metal detector. I've been taking it to the local beaches for the past month, and it has completely transformed my hobby. My biggest concern was performance in wet, salty sand, which can drive other detectors crazy with false signals. This machine, however, is incredibly stable. It ground balances perfectly and stays quiet until it locks onto a real target. The discrimination is fantastic. I can reliably ignore most of the junk (bottle caps, I'm looking at you) and focus on the good stuff. The tones are clear and distinct, and I'm already getting a feel for what's under the sand before I even dig. It's lightweight enough for me to swing for hours without my arm falling off, and the waterproof coil is a game-changer for searching the surf line where the best targets hide. If you are serious about beach hunting, stop looking and buy this one. You won't regret it!

I went down a rabbit hole on Redditt one night and decided to order a lower priced/intro model to see if metal detecting was something I would actually enjoy before spending more on the hobby. Assembly was quick and straightforward, and the screen is easy to read, the controls are clearly labeled, and it does not take long to understand the basic modes and start scanning. In use, it reliably detects shallow metal like nails, coins, and common buried debris. Audio feedback is clear, and the pinpoint feature helps narrow down a signal once you get a hit. Discrimination works but takes some trial and error, and target ID can shift depending on depth and angle, but I think the learning curve is manageable. The search coil and lower shaft are waterproof, which makes it usable near wet ground, shallow water, and beach edges. The control box is not waterproof and needs to stay dry. The battery life is excellent, and I have had a lot of fun using it so far. the real test will be a beach later this spring and I cant wait.

Nice setup. It will use allot of 9V Batteries tho. In search of one that I can USB or C charge.

This detector was easy to assemble and much lighter weight than expected. It took a little bit of time to learn how to use it properly (user error!) but has been a fun way to get my husband to get outside and exercise… and explore!

This metal detector works well! For being on the lower end of price, you get a lot of features that high priced detectors would have. We are a novice at metal detecting, so it was a good experience with this product.

I bought this metal detector to get back into the hobby of metal detecting now that we have a travel trailer with plans to relax in the great outdoors. I had a very expensive metal detector many years ago, but after it broke due to water damage, I never got around to replacing it. I didn't want to spend big bucks on a new one, so after lots of research I decided on this Ulhund metal detector. I haven't yet used it on camping trips, but checking out my property I am already very impressed. It seems to be highly selective with very good accuracy. It is very easy to follow my irrigation system pipes. By adjusting the sensitivity I could easily detect the location of the rebar in my concrete driveway. It has three distinct tones that clearly notify what class of metal it has found, and it's very easy to lock out classes of metal that you don't want to search for. Overall it is much easier to use than my old detector was, and I would not hesitate to let a child use it after a short lesson. It is lightweight and easy to handle, and the all-metal shaft provides reassuring strength. It's easily collapsible, although it only needs to be shortened to fit into the carry/storage bag supplied with it. You can shorten it for a child's height, or extend it enough for my 6'3" height. It even comes with a small collapsible shovel/pick that also fits in the transport bag! The instructions are well written and easy to follow. The control panel is clear and easy to read and adjust settings (see the attached photos). Although this is not a high-end metal detector, it seems better than the $600 one I used to have. Order one of these and a few 9V batteries, and you'll have everything you need for endless fun (and hopefully some treasure!) Good luck hunting!
