I love this thing! Should have purchased sooner!
I am a very hot sleeper and my wife is the exact opposite.Typically my wife has two blankets and a comforter to sleep with… and that is in the summer or winter time.Myself I sleep with a sheet pretty much year round and I have a cooling mattress cover and also a fan mounted on my headboard.I also have had to have back surgery. So I just can never seem to find a good way to get comfy at night. I am too hot or sweaty and then take the cover off and then the fan is blowing on me and that makes one side of me cold, and then the process is just never ending for me.My wife can never seem to get warm. So she does not want to feel a fan and then also wants to have the bedroom as hot as the surface of the sun! That's where these units came in. We purchased two Twin XL. Looking at the information it looked like it would be a good fix. Water heating and cooling, timer, and it was cheaper than other options like a chilli pad.Setup was super easy! Open the box, put the mattress pad on, connect the extension tube to the pad, then connect the tube to the unit.I filled mine up, turned it on and kept filling it until it was full while it was running. The unit itself is much smaller than it looks in the product pictures. It's pretty hefty and feels like really good quality. Would definitely not shock me to see this in a PT office or medical facility. At its loudest it has a very quiet droning sound. After it is at temp you dont hear it at all.We put out under the bed and even when it is running 100% you do not hear it.The warming is pretty quick and its a nice constant “smooth” heat. Its kinda just like getting into a bed that you have already been sleeping in. like a nice warm hug!The cooling part (setting it at 46F) it will definitely leave a chill. For the first night I wanted to just leave it at 46F, figuring I would be pretty happy with that. I set it 1 hour before bed so it would be ready. It was really nice being able to get in bed and cover up and not get hot. Keeping an eye on the temp on the display, I noticed it steadily went up to about 57F while I was in bed. After sleeping for a few hours I woke up really cold! So I tossed over to the other side and it was just as cool. After about 4 hours I could not handle how cold it was making me so I had to turn it up! I was pretty happy about this. After sleeping with it for a few nights I found that keeping it at about 68-70F keeps me comfortably cool but not cold where I toss around all night. The best part about it, with this I do not use my fan any more!My wife the first night she thought she would set it at 98, but then quickly found that it was to hot for her! (can you believe it!) so she put it down to 88, and still woke up because it was making he to hot. I think even she was shocked. He final temp was 78-80 was her comfortable setting. The heat is like a nice soft heat, not like an electric blanket where there are hotspots and it just makes you to hot.As for the feeling of the tubes. Its not super noticeable with a simple sheet over them. If you put a slightly padded sheet like honey comb (cooling) ones at target, you do not feel them at all.My wife is like the princess and the pea. So she would have not been happy if she felt them!Overall I am really happy with this purchase so far. I really I would have purchased these much much much sooner! My only complaints are the remote it kinda clunky and you cannot see the buttons at night (the buttons do not light up), and they use the god awful BLUE led backlight for the screen. But once you find your ideal setting I don’t think you will ever mess with it. There is also a small blue led on the base unit when it’s cooling, but nothing some black tape cant take care of! The instructions are not the greatest, but they get the job done and mine came with instruction for the european unit (220v) but the unit is USA standard 110v-120vThe sleep timer is nice. So my routine is. About 30 mins before bed. Come turn my wifes on and set her timer and then turn mine on and set the timer. Easy peasy. It remembers your temp you had it set to the previous night.I like that it came with a nice long extension tube too! That was good. When I first unpacked it I missed it and was really shocked that the tube was only 12” long. (that is my mistake.) the extension is about 6-7’ ish. I did not measure. I would like to have seen the tubes come out the bottom side vs the bottom middle. But that's only because we have a walnut chest at the end of our bed that I do not want to squish the tubeOver all very very happy with this purchase!

Great unit for the price
I bought the queen-size version, and I've been using this almost every night for about eighteen months now. There are some pros and cons to it, but generally, this is a great option for the price.Back-story: I looked into the SleepMe options like this unit, but the company has gone through a lot in the past couple of years, and many people have complained about issues with the units not getting resolved by customer service. The next best option, the EightSleep Pod 4, is about $2K, so I figured I would give this one a try before investing in something like that.Pros:-It's extremely simple to set up and use.-The remote makes it easy to turn off and on or adjust the temperature without having to get up.-There's a timer setting you can use to turn it off in the night; I don't use this feature, but it's nice to have.-This thing can get REALLY cold and REALLY hot. Like other reviewers on the previous version of this listing (it looks like they’ve reposted the product, maybe to get rid of the bad reviews), once I realized how cold 70ish degrees felt at night, I ended up bumping it up to 88, and that's basically what I've kept it set at since about day 5.Cons:-The hose is pretty short, so you have to keep the unit close by. If your bed isn't tall enough to store the unit under it (which mine wasn’t—I’ve since bought a new, taller bed frame), then you have to have the unit somewhere around and outside of the bed, which can be a tripping hazard.-Unlike SleepMe and EightSleep products, which boast that you don't have to refill the water for months, this one you have to refill about once a week. It only takes about 2/3 c. to refill, and distilled water isn't that expensive, so I don't mind this. But it's something to keep in mind if you want something almost no-maintenance.-I can feel the tubing through my cotton flannel sheets. It makes my mattress feel a little more firm than it is naturally, so that's something I've had to adjust to. For the price difference, I was willing to compromise on that and figure out other ways to make my mattress comfortable.Overall, a great product, and I'm really happy with my purchase.Side note: I haven't had problems with leaking or mold growing under the mattress. Most of the bad reviews on the previous posting were related to this issue. It seems like it was caused by having the mattress pad temperature set colder and not dealing with condensation.
