Better than the first one.....WAY better....
This one will hold up as hard as I care to squeeze and I am a 6'1" 237 pound Appalachian Mountain timber cutter...lol. I bought one a while back that I was crimping 1/8" stainless cable in double eye aluminum sleeves, don't remember the brand but it was yellow and had the same specs. Aluminum is not very tough. Nothing like these thick leaded 2/0 battery cable ends. I made 2 crimps and the first one popped on the third. I have made multiple sets of leaded battery cable end crimps with this set but this is the only one I photographed for some reason, and im telling you I got them tight to the point that the dies were touching on each crimp and these still work great! I guess thats why these cost twice as much but very well worth it!!!

Impressive tool for the cost
This review is for the green UTZIKO 10 US TON Hydraulic Cable Lug Crimping tool. Date, 7/2023. Okay, I'm old and have been working with hand tools since the age of 5. So, I'd like to think that I know a good tool when I see one. First impression of this tool is wow, this is built like a tank. The tool does have a quality look, and feel. Especially for the price point that it sells at. (this one was under $40 us) I looked, and read what seemed like an endless amount of reviews for this, and the other popular type of tools like this. Most of these tools seem like they are the same tool with a different name attached. Pretty sure that for the most part...they are the same. This model had one option that was only found on a much more expensive model and, having that option was why I picked this tool over the countless others like it. The option? A return spring on the plunger that returned the handle to the top of its stroke. I gambled that this tool was actually the more expensive model being sold under a different brand. Back to these tools being pretty much the same.I do believe that this tool should give many years of service if, it isn't abused, always has clean oil, and is only used for home use. No... this is not a professional grade tool! If you're a pro, spend the money and buy a professional grade tool! Don't be one of those morons that buy a tool for home use and then write a bad review when the tool fails in a year because it was used on the job everyday! I was impressed with the quality of this crimper, and I am not one that is impressed easily. If a product is junk, I have no problem saying so, and often do. The darker green model was the only model that I saw with a return spring on the plunger. Good luck.

Very functional but not perfect. Die sizes are off-spec so some lugs do not make a perfect fit.
I would have given five stars if his model didn't have two minor shortcomings: 1) not all AWG sizes are included in the die set. I specifically needed AWG 1 and the closest dies were AWG 1/0 and AWG 2. AWG1 is not included and neither is AWG 3. Also, the die sizes are somewhat off the standard spec, which means that you might have to try either a larger and smaller die size until you find one that sufficiently crimps your copper terminal lug. While this can be viewed as somewhat of an annoyance, it is offset by the fact that this tool has so much excess clamping strength that if you place in a lug die designed for smaller form-factor, the tool will still be able to make a quality and very tight crimp, squeezing out the excess copper at the die clamping seam, just like toothpaste (which can be filed or trimmed away with aviation snips). This unit is that strong. Certainly, that's neither code nor best practice, but if you're making 12v low voltage/high current cables for your vehicle or amateur radio shack, the connections will be electrically sound and last a lifetime. In short, this tool does get the job done, but I wouldn't recommend it for a journeyman electrician. It's fine for DIY automotive or other low-voltage (e.g. solar panel) home projects. What I can say is that the 16 ton spec of this unit lives up to its billing. This crimper definitely delivers on that end.

Lug Crimper works great
Excellent product for the price. I use it to make battery and accessory cables for my 34' Silverton boat. I have also helped friend make professional looking cables for a fraction of the store price. Highly recommended.

Use the next size smaller dies
It performs perfectly as long as you use the dies one size smaller than is indicated. I was unable to make a solid crimp on 6 ga wire with the dies labeled as such, for example, but worked great with the 8 ga dies.
