Premium math pencil
Amazing pencil. Im an engeneering student and I use this pensil for all my math classes. The pros of this pencil come from the closeness of the grip to the paper. It allows for a smooth writing and the greator feeling of control of the pencil on the paper. The overall feel of writing with this pencil is a 10/10 very smoothThe control you have when writing with this pencil is 10/10The pensil feels premium and lasts a long time.Cons are that because the grip is so close to the paper, the grip will naturally become black after a while but if your okay with that this is perfect for you.

Incredible pencil for writing music (and everything else)
I never thought I would become such a pencil connoisseur or that it really makes that much of a difference, but for me there is life before rOtring, and life after. It's really hard to explain how and why, costs aside, the weight and feel is so balanced and precise, I find myself writing clearer, straighter lines with grace and ease that I never thought possible with normal mechanical pencils. I've also learned a lot about different leads and discovered that I vastly prefer the slightly softer side with Japanese B-grades. My only previous experience with mechanical pencils were almost always HB or 2H, and flimsy - constant lead breakage, a scratchy sensation against the page – and until recently I misunderstood this to be the diameter (0.5 or 0.7) more than the lead grade itself. So for awhile, I had stayed away from mechanical pencils for this reason and used the newer Blackwing Palaminos for awhile. They're pretty nice, but require excessive sharpening and even at their sharpest, their "2B" equivalent can rarely ever get fine detailed lines.I write a lot of music on staff paper, and sometimes the staff lines can be pretty small. I first discovered the rOtring 600 0.7mm model in silver at a local stationery shop, and instantly fell in love, especially after swapping out for 2B lead. The weight is perfect and I feel like I can write with it all day long. However, sometimes I wish for a finer point even still. I decided to buy this gold model in 0.5mm so I can easily tell it apart from my silver 0.7 at a glance (and again, swapped out for 2B, I am liking Uni SmudgeProof). With these powers combined, I am able to turn the pencil in such a way that I can get insanely detailed lines (necessary for writing all those tiny notation markings, and also text in the margins); but also turn it another way and draw a smooth line and it will thicken up slightly in a way that feels and looks fantastic.I'll never be able to go back to any other mechanical pencil again! Also the listing name is incorrectly spelled as "Rottling" but fear not, it is legit. The packaging and quality is exactly the same as my other one which cost almost twice as much at the local shop. Finally, I saw a review that says it does not come with an eraser - this is not correct – I can confirm that it's beautifully hidden under the cap, and they sell replacements too. The eraser works great, nice and clean!

Heavy; feels premium
This mechanical pencil is far heavier than most if not all on the market. It feels premium and is premium. My only issue is that it doesn't have technology such as lead guards or rotating lead.

Beautiful mechanical pencil
I enjoy using the Rottling Mechanical Pencil, it is weighty and easy to hold in the hand, it writes and draws very well. The only negative is it does not have an eraser or come with an eraser. If you like writing or drawing with pencil, it is a nice experience, and this is a high quality mechanical pencil.

Fine Mechanical Pencil!
I have owned and used rOtring products all of my career life (~35 years) I still have 3 original rOtring 600's (made in Germany) and the new manufacturer has missed precious little in capturing the essence of the German engineering. Nice heft; a familiar knurled grip; tactical matting. Why do I own so many? When I acquire a quality product, I REALLY enjoy them. I want to have plenty of these around for my heirs to fight over.

It stopped working
I got this pencil for school, and it was great, but about two weeks into using it, I started having problems with its dispensing lead. I got the same brand of lead refills in the same size as needed. I would try to have it dispense more lead, and it just wouldn't even though I could see the lead in the tip, the pencil refused to push it out any further. After about five minutes of trying to get more lead to come out, it finally did, but I had to catch up on the notes I had just missed because I was trying to get my pencil to work. I kept having this problem every couple of days until it eventually just stopped pushing lead out altogether. This made me very disappointed because I enjoyed using this pencil and got it expecting to be able to use it for years to come. In conclusion, I am very disappointed with this product seeing as pencils that i spent less than $2 on worked longer.
