Delicious and natural energy kick!
Great drink, really tasty with a long lasting energy boost without the jitters you can get from coffee! I felt like my gym session went way better after a can too. Can highly recommend IKO Drinks!

Yerba mate tea in a can
This is a pack of out of date yerba mate cans of energy drink. I only tried a taste of it and it wasn't that bad but I wasn't bowled over by it. I have read about yerba mate and there are some health risks and benefits if taken in small quantities. I would say read up for yourself but I won't be having any more than a taste.

Refreshing booster...
As long as your taste buds are expecting an iced-tea style drink this Yerba Maté is lovely and this particular version adds a citrus edge with some lime juice and sweetens it with Agave syrup. Served over ice it's a frothy sparkling treat and I enjoy the mix of slight sweetness and slight tannic bitterness. It doesn't taste quite like normal black tea but that's not a complaint and has its own botanical flavour that's appealing. As another reviewer has mentioned the use-by date on the base of the can seems to have been passed, mine also says April 2022 and this is July, but it tastes fine. Another thing worth noting, Yerba Maté has been linked with some cancers and it can contain known carcinogens, you have to be consuming it frequently to be at serious risk but worth knowing about. There's also a good dose of Caffeine in each one, about the same as a strong instant coffee or a mug of freshly-ground, and if you neck the whole can in one it does give you a bit of a boost. Sipped more slowly it's not much different from drinking the coffee, just a lot more refreshing.

Out of date?
The drinks arrived well packaged. It's a display pack of 12. The cans contain lots of goodness and natural caffeine which can give you a good boost for the day.I was disappointed to find though that the date stamped on the can is April 2022 - I'm presuming it's the expiry date as not sure why they'd be stamped with the production date and not the expiry. Could be an error but every can is stamped with it so not keen to consume.Taste wise, it's very much like cold sparkling tea - I can't really taste the lime. Shame about the date issue. As mentioned, could be an error but a bit strange for every can to be stamped April 2022.

Sadly the taste is not for me
Really disappointed with this. The flavour is definitely an acquired taste but nothing I can get used to. I’ve had sparkling ice tea before but this ain’t it. Really makes me wonder who tried this drink and thought 'Mhh this flavor is delicious and refreshing. It’s a thumbs-up from me!’. Cannot recommend this at all. Very unfortunate because it sounded really good and I was looking forward to it.

Pleasant
This has a fairly neutral taste, but gets the job done; while not quite effective for me as drinking a cup of strong coffee, having a couple of these in place of coffee did wake me up. I had one chilled - as suggested - and one that was at room temperature. Both were pleasant and I don't think there was a huge taste difference between the two.Not all energy drinks are created equally. I've tried quite a few and this has the most neutral taste of any of them, with just a subtle aftertaste. This is also unlike many others in that it doesn't have close to zero calories and sugar. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, as a great many natural products do have sugar in them. Zero calories and zero sugar would, in my opinion, make it harder for a product like this to be effective. At roughly £1.50 a pop - depending on the flavour option - at the time of my review, I think these are a reasonable option. Mate (a drink that's crazy popular in some South American countries) is a nice source for caffeine and the flavour is close enough to neutral to not be objectionable.
