Overall, this unit works well in converting an XLR signal to USB. It’s plug and play so there’s no hassles with installing drivers, always a plus.Resulting sound quality is about the same as a native USB-connected microphone, which while not the best is acceptable for casual use such as video conferencing via Skype. However, I most definitely would not recommend it for recording musical performances. Quality A/D converters which record directly into DAW software should always be used in that case, to obtain professional results.The main thing to be aware of prior to ordering is that it does not supply phantom power for condenser microphones, nor does it claim to. However, it works just fine with dynamic mikes.Bottom line: For the most part it does what it claims to do, no more, no less... That is, providing a very simple method to connect an XLR output to a computer.
