Introverts: Check Out These Practical Career Tips
We found lots to like in The Introvert’s Complete Career Guide. The reason is that Jane Finkle clearly outlines steps to take in every stage of the career process – from self-evaluation all the way through to landing and then beginning a new job. Moreover, I found practical tips in each section of the book that even extroverts can use.Jane begins by explaining how introverts can find their voice through the use of several exercises, including a skills inventory. Next, she builds on that by explaining how to tell one’s career story, based on the self-analysis readers just completed.Throughout the book, Jane gives real life examples, based on people that she’s worked with as a career coach. Best of all, Jane gives readers insights about her own story and how she’s made breakthroughs.Especially informative are Jane’s tips on negotiating a job offer. She explains how to prepare for a negotiation by sizing up your situation and based on that developing an ideal offer package. She ends with tips for developing the negotiation outline, practicing and bargaining. Compared to other sources, Jane does an especially thorough job of describing how to secure a good job offer. Finally, our favorite section of the book is the last section with tips for beginning a new job. Even though landing the job can seem like the end of the journey, it’s also the beginning of a new one. Jane lays out solid suggestions for becoming an ally of your new boss and building relationships with co-workers, which are critical for success on the new job.In summary, introverts will find lots of useful information, exercises and action steps they can quickly take. Likewise, even seasoned professionals will find ideas to they can use to better manage their careers.

This book could change your life!
Once I started reading, The Introvert’s Complete Career Guide, I couldn’t put it down. It spoke directly to me and explained so much about my own experiences in the workforce. Jane Finkle offers knowledge and practical advice that I was able to apply right away, in a variety of situations. Her book is enjoyable to read, too! I appreciated every personal experience Jane shared in her book, which added to the authenticity of the information. I found the book insightful and have recommended it to a number of people who personally benefitted from the information in the book and thanked me for sharing it with them. The most consistent comment is that Jane writes as if she is in the room with you, sharing her knowledge. I highly recommend this book for anyone who thinks they are an introvert and wants to build their career.

Introverts need this book for career planning
Jane Finkle’s, The Introverts Complete Career Guide is a unique resource and one of the only career guides for introverts. This book has many inspiring chapters. I liked the fact that the book has many examples to illustrate her concepts. For introverts going to a networking event is especially difficult and can make an introvert feel petrified about talking about him or herself. Thus she recommends tapping into one’s reflective thinking skills before one goes to a networking event; and using one's visibility and knowledge to prepare for the event. Throughout the book, prepared networking questions, and answers to prepare in advance when introducing oneself are especially helpful. Also, the section on how to use social media to your advantage is comprehensive and excellent. This is a must read!
