Great alternative for pilots
I use it for CO detection inside of a general aviation aircraft. It works well. Detects miniscule changes, and alerts me effectively even through the sound deadening of our headsets. I have it clipped to the headliner next to the pilot door and the alarm sounds off plus flashes, catching my attention every time.I definitely recommend this over the plastic cards pilots stick to the panel.

So I purchased this item from seller and couldn't have been happier. The item arrived extremely quickly.I opened up package and turned unit on. Unit went through the start up procedure and was ready to go. I went ahead and wrote my name on the device because I write my name on everything. An hour after unit powered on I was getting false alarms on it. Walking outside on the street without a car in site it was alarming.I took unit off my belt and went to the office. I then looked at the unit and saw the message pictured above. After researching it, it has something to do with being defective and inoperable.I started the return process and returned the product to seller.I get a refund notice from Amazon. The refund is for 1 cent. The explanation of the refund is that the seller stated that I did not return the item which was purchased. Seller stated that then seriel number of the unit is documented and that I tore off then seriel number from the box they shipped it in and they can't confirm this is their product.Again granted it's an honor system and I guess I should have taken a picture and video of the unboxing veryfying that this is the item that I purchased but I didn't.So I'm out the money that I purchased item with and have my 1 penny refund. After looking at the sellers page I see at the bottom seller disclaimer: all sales finalSo maybe that's the reason I am not getting a refund for my defective unitSo I would give 5 stars for shipping process. But that's about it.

for 6 months it was great and worked well
Worked really well and then one day the alarm just started and wouldn't stop and I was not near anything that could have remotely caused the unit to sound an alarm. So, for 6 months it was great and worked well. Not sure that I'll buy another one.

Nice detector, but not what I needed.
---I am a little unhappy with the GA24XT-M GasAlertClip Extreme. It got here quickly and seems to work like it is supposed to, but it doesn't do what I need it to do. I need to know if there is co present in concentrations below 35ppm and there is no way to determine that with this unit. If co exceeds one of the two limits (factory present and not user changeable) then you can review the details (within 24 hours) and see what the high reading was.---I have had home co detectors that show a reading whenever co is above 10 ppm and then audibly alarm at various higher levels. As this device advertises a 0-1000 ppm measuring range I expected something similar. Not only is the present co level never displayed but the range is also given as 0-300 some places and 0-1000 in others.---If you just need a handy little device that alarms at the factory preset levels, I see no reason this would not be a good device for you. If you need to see actual levels in real time or want to know about levels below 35 ppm you will be wasting your money on this model.---I tested it near a propane stove and it seems to respond to the presence or absence of co levels in about 5 or 10 seconds. The first time you push the button the device is activated. You cannot turn it back off. It is supposed to last two or more years depending on how much it alarms.---With a little better understanding of co detectors I did more research and I have just ordered a detector made by Sensorcon. The model name seems to be "Carbon Monoxide Inspector." It is $119.00 plus shipping from Amazon, so only a little more than the GasAlertClip. And their website specifically talks about displaying ppm values of just 2 or 3 ppm, so I think it will do what I need.

One Star
This thing went into fail mode after 4 months and wouldn’t clear. Not worth the money.

Went haywire...
Pros: Lightweight, clip works well, speaker is loud and clear.Cons: The rubber boot on the outside is very fragile - it started to fall apart within 2 months of having it attached to my hip pocket, also around 18-19 months of battery life remaining the detector went haywire with a low alarm regardless of the surroundings (I happened to be outside at the time) and I had to remove the battery from inside of it to get it to stop beeping. It's a nice size for any emergency service worker to carry, however if the issue that I experienced is a common thing, I would not recommend this unit to anyone.
