I am very impressed with the capabilities of this automobile scanner, which provide much more functionality than previous scanners I owned. This scanner has helped me diagnose, perhaps, a half dozen problems, any one of which would have easily cost as much as this device. Love the real time data, bi-directional tests and special function tests Without a scanner such as this, one is flying in the dark regarding diagnosis of many systems and components. Really GREAT value for the functionality provided.

AWESOME scanner, it has more capabilities that I have conquered. I love it. I have used it on a few vehicles and to check the check engine light. read the codes, it has helped with the abs function on a car that I am stumped with brake issues. Very easy to learn. Sadly no owners manual I mean in the physical sense. I believe you have to download it. Plenty of YouTube tutorials. Well worth the money.

Likes: A pretty responsive user interface. Lots of vendors supported and covers most of the cars I see. Fairly in depth diagnostic capability. A few active diagnostic control tools. Dislikes: User interface is kind of difficult to navigate and filter for the PIDS you are interested in. No CANbus network diagrams, or information. No wiring diagrams even with the annual subscription. DuraMax Diesel 3.0L fuel injections pressure ranges are off by a factor of 8X-10X. They are showing <~3,800 when the limits are really up to around 36,000+ Unreliable code clears fail to remove historical codes from some modules. It says it clears, but it does not . Changes: A better way to manage, categorize and group and select PIDs other than only the infinite scroll. Each technician is going to have preferences as to how they approach things and on modern cars there are too many to infinitely scroll through as the only option. Some sort of user profile where you can save PIDS and other parameters in groups and them enable or disable by group. Some memory of vehicle history by VIN so that it can re-import and select the PIDS that were used previous on the same vehicle. That makes it much faster when powering up for each re-test during repairs. Improve reliability of the existing features.

The MaxiCOM MK808S is hands-down one of the best automotive scanners I’ve ever used. From the moment I powered it on, I was impressed by how fast it boots and how smooth the touchscreen interface feels. I also appreciate that it comes with free software updates for the first year, and the Wi-Fi connectivity makes them super easy to download. The build quality feels solid and professional, and the battery lasts long enough for a full day in the shop. The value for the money is there. The functionality for DIY and new-to-the-industry technician is there. Bidirectional controls and functions tests for most vehicles and test types. Live data recording and playback. Scans codes for most OBD-II vehicles. Stands up with other scan tools of double the cost. Read and understand your tool before using it, there's a lot more power in this tool than just scanning and deleting trouble codes. Hasn't let me down yet after two years of using it.

Very pleased with my puchase. After owning for a little while now, I must say this thing is pretty nice . Has alot of features. Some of which I haven't a clue what they are or do. The bi-directional aspect of this scanner I have used way more than I thought I would... It's a option I never realized I needed. I went to the official "Autel" website and ran a authenticity of device via the serial number on the back of my device and the software details via setting. It is authentic and the seller is a licensed dealer. It feels very durable . It's a good weight and durable

The scanner works as intended, there is a little bit of a learning curve but overall it’s manageable. I bought it to do brakes on our equinox that requires an advanced scanner to retract the electric parking brake. Only gave it 4 stars due to the subscription cost for renewal. I do like its ability to tell me why my abs light is on directing it to the specific wheel so I can focus on that part. I’m not a mechanic, just work on my own cars so I believe it will be a good fit.
